The weight thing was purely a joke.
LOL!!! Figured it was a joke, your only saving yourself a few grams.
It does add up a little if you do enough of them, I got aluminum all over my Tekno RCs and never bent or broke any of them and if you've seen my basher videos you know I'm not easy on them.

I've never run them on 1/8s but always had my 1/10s blinged out. I usually didnt have them on parts that took a lot of abuse though. Dont recall breaking any but that was years ago (early 90's) when purple anodizing was thing (hey, dont judge me ). Thinking about it, the interior lighting on my Mustang is purple, hmm, ok, judge away.

Also I shorten the wheelbase, which is similar to adding more front droop in that it transfers weight rearward on acceleration, but doesn't affect cornering like altering droop does. I think mo setup has 3 mm in front of hub, I run 2 or 1. This will also give slightly more toe in, but that helps the cause anyway.
Thanks to all you guys who have responded with great suggestions. I have a M12 radio and honestly its a bit much for me to understand the other functions other than reducing the Epa. Im not sure about what expo does. And I would love to slow the speed of the steering but I just dont understand how to do it on this radio without hurting sometime else. On my Futabu it was very easy to make all adjustments.

I run the Losi clutch as Mo suggest in his setup. Will changing to the stock clutch help my situation a little more? I will shorten the wheel base to start with. And I about to leave work and break the whole car down to review if I have the setup correct.

Also if anyone could help guide me on how to adjust the suggested setting on my M12 that would be great. Im going to try to read the manual but I understand better when someone explains something to me.

The Losi clutch he runs (steel vice aluminum) will actually help soften the low end punch of the engine because of the heavier weight. This effect is pretty minor but it will make for a more stable idle as well. As for Expo adjustments, they effect the speed of the servo just off neutral on a curve. Negative expo will reduce the initial speed from neutral and positive expo will increase the speed from neutral. I guess speed isnt the right verbiage, responsiveness would be better. If you find that initial turn in happens faster than you want, you could use negative expo to help slow that response down. Keep in mind that it is on a curve; though initial response slows, it ramps up quicker than normal after that.

I use a futaba but you should be able to adjust steering servo speed and steering expo with any good racing radio. If you are new or still not real smooth w the throttle or steering than using negative expo on both is great and may help you with the rear stepping out too. If your motor has TONS of bottom, then start with -20 throttle expo and see if that helps at all. With steering, theres Dual Rate, Servo Speed, and Expo and futaba has a couple others but if I were you I would first try -10 or -15 steering expo, this will make the steering less responsive initially. the best way i can help you visualize this is, imagine you are on the straight and you intend to make only a small adjustment but the car reacts way more than intended, the negative expo will help slow down that initial input. basically if you are a spaz or twitchy or nervous, its like a xanax for steering, itll calm it down a bit haha, no idea if that makes sense to you but the best thing to do is go out and try it. Ive spent hours reading the futaba manual and everytime i read it i find new tricks and ways to help with nitro cars specifically.

Once again thanks for all the advice. I actually found expo on my radio. I did reduce steering to -20. I also found that I had my toe plate too tight and when I moved my rear hubs forward I noticed that I had that hinge pin too tight ass well. We will be club racing tonight so I'm going to see if this has helped

Another thing besides expo that helps is to slow the servo speed down.. most are too fast as it is and not really needed on steering. Having a .07 transit time isn't needed. On throttle its ok, but on steering I usually have mine dialed back a bit, like 90% on turn and return (except on truck, cause its fun .

Ordered a BittyDesign Force body for the XB9, I'll let you know how/if it fits when it arrives.

I was trying to figure out a nice clean way of mounting the switch and my old transponder (too cheap to buy a new hybrid when all of my old ones are still working) while making it easy to plug/unplug the battery and came up with this. I drilled a hole in the top of the rear cover so the switch can be mounted without trimming any ears or using servo tape. In theory, the wires are tight enough that they cant snag on the throttle linkage but also have enough slack to allow for chassis flex. We'll see how that works out. I may be able to figure out a wire mount (one of these perhaps) of some sort that would attach to the receive box lid just behind the transponder.

Edit: added the wire guides to the order. Looks like I can mount one where the button head is right in front of the switch and the other right behind the transponder like mentioned earlier.

Did you get the email I sent you this morning?

Yesterday when I sent you a pm, it didn't go though like it said it did. I tried again this morning and it said you have it set to not receive private messages. You can fix this by clicking on User CP at the top left of this page, when the page opens look to the left of the page and you will see Your Control Panel, look down until you see Edit Options and click on it, the next page you will look down until you see the Private Messaging section. In that section you will want to put a check mark in the first and third box. The forth box depends on your preference to check mark it or not.
