had a fun day today doing some group running a track part of guys house. Low turn out of guys who like to race, but a group of them who regularly travel to the larger races in MN .

The conditions were black dirt, that when watered I would say offers about medium level traction. As it dries out it goes to dust. Tires like a Blockade work quite well. Didn't have any for my 1/8 scale but settled on AKA I-Beams in soft compound and htye worked quite well.

Track was small enough that on my Tekin 1900Kv motor I was down to a 14T pinion and that felt really good.

with the setup I am using, I round that I needed a bit more bite so I decided to move the shocks in 1 position on the tower and that felt really good.

I am thinking though going to 6 hole 1.5mm pistons as well as on my SCT410 they just seem to soak stuff up better than a 1.3 x 8 hole setup. I think that last bit will help with the bit of jittery feeling at times I would get. In general was good, just once in a while didn't feel as confident as I wanted it to. And the PRCP Track is much more bumpy so wanting to get that smooth glide feel. If anyone has tips, let me know. Can post my full setup if that helps.

Damage for the day was the original ackerman plate that the EB48s came with, finally broke so I put on the upgraded version. I also managed to snap a CVD as the outdrive wore enough I believe to cause it to bind. Will throw in some spares I have.

All in all a good day, believe I may have put down the fastest lap time in both 1/8 E buggy and 1/10 SCT, though small group, good group, had a blast.

Sounds like a fun day Cain. I will be getting mine going soon for our winter indoor season.

yeah, definitely was fun!

Alright, question for everyone, just saw the most recent posted setup using 6 x 1.5mm pistons here:

http://www.teknorc.com/tekno5/wp-con...MediumBite.pdf

is this a good setup to try on low bite, if not, what should be first place to start changing?

Finally, my buggy is ready for Bring The Heat next weekend in Flowood, MS. Rebuilt the entire car with all new plastics and drive train, new lrc mount and milled shock bushings. The car is as ready as it is going to be.

Cain, I'm Jeff Beck. I ran that setup again this weekend with a lower bite track and it still worked great. That setup was developed with help from Mr. Tekno himself. The key to the shock setup is using the outer upper holes in the arms to increase the shaft speed.

That setup is extremely aggressive. It has gratuitous amounts of steering. If you find it hard to drive start with lowering your dual rate and or moving the Ackerman position back to center to help tone it down.

cool thanks.

I am going to do some comparisons here and see what I can appropriate to what I have.

probably the biggest thing for me would be the rear camber link location as that appears different than what I am seeing on other setups, what did you notice with this location?

That location gave the car more rear traction overall. It allowed the chassis to roll and recover better than the inner middle hole I normally use.

Anyone with the old shock cartridges use one older style (black) shock guide in with their new delrin shock guides or does everyone drill them? I am a bit reluctant to drill mine so I substituted a older style black guide in the middle of the delrin guides between the O'rings, maybe new cartridges will be on my shopping list in the near future...

I like it. Sounds like I need to send mine to you. I can barley paint one color.
