Thats good to know, I put a new one in my engine not long back so that should be right for a while then, might still get another 1 for a spare soon though just incase.

So I've been out this hobby for a while and only recently got back into it. Noticed the massive mods site is no longer running.. What happened there ? Do they still manufacture the MG66?
Here in the UK I used to be able to get GO and massive mods products and spares from apex models. They don't seem to stock them any more and when I emailed sales about GXII plus units they didn't know when they were getting any back in stock.

I'll alway run GO and I'll just look overseas for products. GO seemed a lot bigger last time I was running 1/8 buggy. A lot of people in the UK run alpha motors and don't seen to know as much about GO any more.

While you were away from the hobby GO underwent a few changes.
They had a management / design team change which saw the company head off on a bit of a tangent. They effectively canned the 5RHO motor (thier most succesful engine ever), then didnt release any product for around 18 months.
This left agents and importers with little option but to drop the GO range and look elsewhere.

Finally common sense prevailed and the new direction was dropped by senior management, the people responsible were sent on their way, and the old design team brought back on board - enter the new GXII Plus now on the market.

Unfortunately, 18 months or so of spending money on R&D for products and projects that never came to fruition has left the company somewhat wounded.
Many distributors and customers have now moved on to other brands due to lack of supply or displeasure at the direction the company went in.
A few have stocked the new Plus motor in an effort to revive the brand, but sales are slow, with customers a bit wary about being left out in the cold again by GO.
Many have moved on, and wont return.
Its a shame, as the new Plus motor from the old design team is a good little motor.

The fact that the company is now dumping engines on the market via ebay etc from its warehouse hasn't helped with faithful distributors getting back on board.
These motors (Cera, Champion and Underdog Project) were produced by the failed new design team, but with the brief exception of the Underdog Project engine, never saw the light of day.
Obviously the company needs to get some money back on these engines for its future endevours - but by dumping these products on the market and by-passing the distributors who have stuck with the company through this difficult time, they risk losing any support from these guys they now have left.
This sort of marketing is not uncommon in Asia, but it tends to "cheapen" the image somewhat, and it hasn't helped the companies cause with a lot of people.

So in a nutshell, that's why you dont see much in the way of GO products out there anymore. Its a pity.

Massive Mods was sold, the name was changed to Nitro Addicts Australia, (there's a website as well), although it looks like Mark (owner) isn't really doing much these days, (nothing happening on website), the engines are still available though, from RC Crew in Bankstown, Sydney, not sure for how long though.
They have the MG66 & the Godzilla with more bottom end & lighter weight.
They have the 2072 & 2103 pipes as well, I just got a new 2072 from them & spoke on the phone, they were good to deal with & fast postage.

Honestly, while I like my Godzilla engine I don't think I will be purchasing another one, or the MG66, as it looks like they may not be around much longer.

That's such a pity They did have a great line up of products. I loved the GXR range. Had the 5 and 7 port. I also heard they were designing "RTR Race motors" which seemed suicidal to me!
I've seen a few of the Cera units on eBay. With no support or backup parts can't see them selling to be honest.
Oh well I hope they get their sh*t together and people support them again.
Running GO motors was the reason I stayed in this hobby.
Maybe I can promote them when I eventually head back to the tracks here in the UK

Fine tune (fat race tune) cera today after half gallon. Powerful n smooth with the price, worth every penny. running with arrow 2103 pipe.

Thanks for the report on the Cera.
Yeah, the Cera is a really nice engine for the price. An updated Arrow GTR Plus II. Has a nice Italian Front bearing, some kind of Hard coated rear bearing, Ceramic(?) coated back plate, 3 needle carb, DLC coated crank and a LCG head.
Cant see how this engine is a flop.
See Rex at RW Mods to get one as he goes through them well and you can't beat the price.
Too bad about the GO factory situation though. Im sure these would've cost more if it did hit the market as planned.
Hopefully GO gains back their reputation with the new GXII Plus engines.

USD 250 - 300 range is more likely.

I'm not sure on the p/s, might be something different in the timing.
I have a modded GX-5R & was told the GX-II p/s timing was different to mine, but the timing on my engine isn't stock, I think it fits in the GX5R but not sure what effect it will have on a stock engine, in mine it will produce less power/torque from what I understand.
Maybe I should purchase a new modded p/s set for mine just to make sure I have the right set to suit.
