Took it back to the pit and temped it. I'm running the rx8 Gen2 with Reedy 544 4300 motor. Motor temped at 147 and ESC at 155. Noticed my fan wasn't working also...

Any ideas?
The fan not working is an issue. On certain tracks where they're high punch and high braking points on the track, you can get them hot enough to thermal without the fan working.

A fan not working is actually worse since it doesn't allow the heatsink to get any fresh air.

You can use the data logger to help you determine what happened if you cleared the run?

You should not be dumping a 6000mah pack in 6 minutes. Unless you forgot to charge it?

Looking fwd to get some sensored combo for my ebuggy, and here are some q's about Tekin system:
- How powerful BEC is? Can it handle Savox 1268 (3.5A in stall mode accodring to savoxusa) without glitchbusters in HV mode?
- RX g2 + HW2 - any additional cables needed? I see there is some standalone 'gen2 adapter' cable, which looks like one included in ESC/motor combo (according to pics at Amain).

BEC is 7amps, it should have no issues with that servo.

Adapter cable for the HW2 comes with the ESC, so you don't need anything extra (unless you want to use the Android App, then you'll need the appropriate cable for your device.)

Perhaps, but "soon" to you may not be "soon" to us. I can't give any more details other than that. Sorry

The RX8 has exceeded all my expectations. This is one smooth esc for sure. I also am really enjoying the HV 7.4 volts for my Savox 2274 servo. I was having issues with too much power from the Pro 4 4600, but after using the Current Limiter, it is working great. I would like to see a smaller version in the future, maybe not quite as powerful but a smaller footprint, the RX6!!! Something just for the Pro 4 4600 and lower motors, and not 8th scale either.

Glad you are liking the RX8 GEN2!

The only issue with a smaller one for only Pro4 motors is that those motors on 2S are pulling more amps than a T8 on 4S, so making it smaller and only for a higher load application like 4WD SC won't really work. Basically, if it handles 4WD SC, it'll handle 1/8 scale just fine. Smaller is always something we are working on though, after all, it's what we do!

Hi All,

Just looking for some confirmations as I am newer to your newer product's. I ran all Tekin products back in the early 90's but back to the subject...

Slash 4x4 RX8 Gen2 and pro4 4000kv motor w/15t or 16t 54tspur seems hot but temps are 150/160ish at the 6 minute mark. I am running at Norcal Hobbies in SJ.

I've been turning up the CL little by little and is 9 or 10 a good place to be at?
Should I experiment w/timing?

Just not happy with the way the power is coming on, it's like varying a bit. Sure it could be the truck or track or me but looking for things to try.

Thanks for reading!!

I wasn't getting a response over in the Hotwire app thread, so I figured I'd try here.

I currently have a hotwire 1.0 & Samsung tab 4 7". After I bought the tab 4 7" I found out it doesn't support otg (I know, I should have read more before spending the $ ). After reading through everything, it appears the tab 4 7" SHOULD work with a hotwire 2.0 (which doesn't require otg use). Is this correct? Can anyone confirm that a tab 4 7" (or tab 3 7") will work with Hotwire 2.0?

Your temps are fine. You comment about not liking the power band though so can you explain that a bit more? It also helps to know your current settings, radio, etc.

No, that's not accurate. The Android Device itself MUST support OTG technology. The difference between the HW 1.0 and 2.0 is that the 2.0 doesn't need an OTG cable.

I've never understood why Samsung removed OTG function from only SOME of their tablets. Good news is that places like Newegg has 7" tablets go on sale frequently for $30 to 40.

They had one recently that was listed in the Tekin HW App thread a few pages back.

thanks for the help. That saved me another $30.
What I'm looking for is a tablet that is USB otg capable, small, & I can get a rugged case for (otterbox, giffin, etc) because it will be used virtually exclusively at the track, & is cheap (relatively any way). The closest thing I have found so far is the Samsung galaxy tab 4 8". Can I get someone to confirm that it is USB otg capable and will work with the hot wire 1.0 if I use a USB otg cable?

Thanks for your response Randy... It just seem's like one time it is a rabbit out of the hole then it just is off a little the next.
Spectrum dx2 throttle set up pretty much stock 100epa's and such for the transmitter. On the esc same here too flat throttle curve, no timing, Started out with 8 for cl and have been moving it up to get some torque for the short run to the triples. I think 1 or 2 drag brake.
I haven't updated the firmware I believe running 248. Running SMC 2s 5600 70c lipos. Green bar codes. Pretty much stock as far as the truck is concerned. Diff's w/center diff and shock oil and springs have been adjusted but that is it. Truck's drive system is in a very good condition, just changed out all bearings.
Comments at the track are smooth and quiet. If you have any suggestions I am all ears.
