On one hand I understand FASST is the better system (less latency) and would prefer that, but on the other hand, I have two R304SB RX from my 4PLS and it would be nice to keep these and use with my new Tx.
The only downside (for some) with FASST is obviously no telemetry. Not really something I care about now, but who knows what the future holds?
I'm hoping they release the 4PX in a package with FASST as an option, then I can have best of both worlds.
Or.... The 4PKS-R comes on unbelievable runout discount and I just grab that and be happy with no swanky new hotness model.

Btw, from several pics found in Japanese blogs, I note that the LCD Display of Futaba 4PX is Japanese language.
If we purchase 4PX from the Japanese online stores, then could we change the display language into English ?
Hope someone could answer my concern

It looks like Futaba is positioning this radio in the FHSS category (same as the 4PL) on their site which is a lower price, non high end line. notice it's not coming with a FASST receiver.
It makes me think they will come out with a higher end FASST radio to replace the 4PKRS. thoughts?

One report I read from the hobby show, talking to one of the representatives, is that the 4PX was made to replace the 4pk line, and that the "x" represents the merge of the FASST and FHSS system. The new radio claims to have 30% lower latency than the Super R(FASST) model using the T-FHSS receivers. If Futaba is trying to merge the two systems into one, maybe they will be both phased out, and bring out a Rx that has the best of both worlds.
Don't know the reason why it was delayed though. But should be hitting the street of Japan in the next few weeks. Will hope to see some reports then.

One word that comes to mind is telemetry. Now that they made the FHSS system faster than FASST, the one selling point that stands out is the telemetry capabilities. The other advantages of FASST is the distance and stronger against interferences, but as an on-road driver, I never experienced any problems with the FHSS system. Maybe if you fly it might be of concern. Hence they probably decided to go with the improved FHSS with the pistol style flagship surface Tx.
