Thumbs up

thank you Dan Vector for the reply, our class has a 540 can size and 2s lipo limit like a mod touring car but thats about the only limitation ,we run wide foams ( super barchetta ) and lola bodies which provide our cars with an extraordinary amount of traction and thus excess current draw, yes 1/10 esc's can handle it but most of us run larger more robust esc like for example castle mmp and tekin rx8, the tekin has proven to run the same motor cooler and faster the the mmp and other esc like hobbywing xerun 120a, it is worth about half a second a lap, my castle mmp has been a faithful workhorse but is outclassed and a limitation next to the rx8's and i am about half a second down on the fastest driver ( rx8 equipped ). the rx8 is cheaper or line ball with the rs pro as well as tougher and it will be the way i go next unless the rs pro has some other advantage besides being smaller, i dont know the answer to this question which is why i have posted here so if there is any other difference it would be great to know.
thank you for your time
cheers

Not many made it out and I suspect we will find them all pretty quickly because they do not sit around in stock anywhere for long
I was running v249 and the phantom cut offs happened no 1,4,7 code thought it was a bad battery until I ran the v250 now it shows the 1,4,7 code within 2laps just letting you all know make sure your running v250 !!

I received my ESC back today with no apparent signs of repair or any paperwork with it.

It was probably repaired but your old case was used. As long as it works... that's what matters.
Can't remember if I got any paperwork back with my rma a couple years ago.

There should be an invoice. It may have been underneath the packing material. You can if it's missing request a copy via [email protected]

If you're going through fans I'd ask what kind of surface you're running on?

Lots of small pebbles and rocks?

Just wanted to say I'm running three gen 2s now, what a great esc and tekin have been fantastic with there service, really came to the party with a problem ESC that was weeks out of warranty.

Also running there latest T8 2250 in my truggy, what a fantastic smooth combo that is, I have only run the truck a few meetings including our NZ Nats were I bought it home 8th, pretty happy!

I have the gen 2 and T8 1900 in buggy and that’s great as well.

I'm running a light Losi SCTE with gen 2 and the new 4300, just working on slowing that down, what a beast of a motor! I still took TQ and a win last meeting I raced it, but it was a handful!!

Thanks for awesome products Tekin, only gear I buy now.

Default Hotwire and iPhone

Does Tekin have any plans to accommodate the iOS platform to update RX8 & gen 2 esc's. I know Apple makes it more difficult to get an application onto the App Store but it sure would be nice.

Thanks-Mark

Apple OS wont allow hosting or something like that. Its not tekin software, its the apple hardware thats holding it back.

Been talked about a bunch of times in this thread if you search "apple" you will find what the limitation is... I'm not an Apple guy so I didn't pay attention.

Randy-thanks for the response. I don't know if it breaks the rules of the forum but I bet most iPhone tekin customers would pay $30 for the app as opposed to taking a $2000 laptop to the track. Love your products service

This thread gives me hope! I built my ebuggy this winter for our outdoor season. I'm worried that Tekin isn't going to replace my ESC because of the warranty time frame being from purchase but it's first use was May 28th when our outdoor season kicked off. I've had 2 race days on it and it smoked up :/ Luckily my car is fine, but I've never had any issues with all my rs's or rx8 gen1... No idea why it did this :/

I have "saved" a data log and it shows up in Hotwire when I reopen it as long as I am connected to my ESC. When I look in Windows Explorer (My Computer) the saved file does not show up for some reason, only the filed named "TekinData_RSG2_3Runs.tek" shows.

What I would to do is to be able to view the file later (when Hot Wire is not connected to the ESC) because I will need to send the RX8 Gen2 in for repair/replacement as it got cooked really bad yesterday. Just FYI, data log shows that the ESC never got over 125 and the motor was around 120. Also puffed one of my brand new shorties. What really stinks is that I was running second in the A-main when the smoke started pouring.

I want to make sure I have the datalog and can view it later if there is an issue with replacment. Bought the ESC April 23rd.
