SC10 4x4 Thread
I just picked up a factory team with exotek chassis. It's for my daughter and I have no clue where to start as far as shocks and diffs. I have not checked this thread yet but just subscribed and will do some research later.
It's outdoor clay. Hard packed with a loser layer that is blown off usually. We run dry and wet. Traction is medium at best. Small track, 25 sec laps with small jumps mostly and a big double
sounds like good conditions for the SC10 4x4.
I would suggest getting the M2C rear toe in block for more toe on the cheap to help with traction.
Next upgrade, not cheap but one of those you get what you pay for is the RC Shox Center Diff setup.

Cain and I both have setups posted in hear if u search for my posts it will come up but the best things I have done is buypass1 pistons, cdif ,front springs in rear, bump stops
The only the this tuck don't do well is leaving a big corner mid power if it gets loose stab the gas and it will fix its self

probably the one outstanding thing I can think of that doesn't have an aftermarket or some other kind of "fix" is the in air attitude control.
But you mainly see this on big jumps like 1/8 tracks.
The counter gear setup that Mantisworx and Shark413 have worked on seems really really promising.
And other hot mod now appears to be going ultralite with the vehicle if your conditions warrant it.

Thanks guys. She is 6 and it will be turned way down. I will race it some as well. I am thinking to start with diffs and shocks first. What is a good starting point? I need to see what pistons are in it.
no prob, if you want to pm your email address I can send you what I ended up with prior to switchin vehicles for a setup.
I think right now based on what i have experienced I probably would only work on the rear camber link length.

Hi all, I bought a SC10 4x4 a couple years ago and just dug it out. My local carpet track closed so I am going to try off road. I have done some research for gearing a 4.5 motor and I found that the starting FDR was 12. Do any of you have experience running a 4.5? If so, what gearing are you running? I plan on sticking with the 12 for the first couple of races, having not raced it before. Any feedback will be appreciated

Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone could take the time to recommend some things for me. I used to own a RC10T3 and Losi XXX maybe 12-15 years ago. Once I stopped racing, I completely lost track of r/c racing. Now, the technology and vehicles are completely different. I would like to get back into R/C and I'm looking at the Sc10 4X4. The problem is, I have no idea what electronics to get or what is "the best" in the market right now. It's like starting all over again with a small knowledge base.
I will be racing on a small-medium size track outside San Antonio that doesn't appear to have a ton of traction. My questions are:
1) Why is the RC10 4X4 so cheap compared to the competitors like tekno or losi? Back in the day, all the top companies had similar pricing.
2) What motor would you recommend for the above track and why? Remember, I know nothing about the new technology.
3) What ESC and batteries are good?
Thanks in advance. My budget is not limited but I do wish to stick with mid-high level gear. It doesnt have to be cheap or the very very best. Thanks again.

I think a lot of what happened is that the class has moved to goal posts on what vehicle designs are used. stuff nowadays is like 1/8 buggy based and the sc10 4x4 seems like it was designed for a more 1/10 scale based setup.
Ironically, its one of the few vehicles (maybe the only one) from AE in the racing line that doesn't have the option of different rear toe settings which from my experience going aftermarket for that part, made a world of difference in traction.
Tekin RX8 gear is top of the line, but a bit more work to fit on the vehicle.
I had great luck with Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro ESC and its cheap.
For batteries, depends on configuration you go with but for saddles smc and promatch have great packs with great warranties.
