More dirt can get inside the chassis and possibly mess things up. We never run without it. But if you are in a pinch, the car works without it.

Sorry Tekno, I'm out. This is my third broken tank. Car has done less than 20 minutes runtime. I know the sceptics will say its driving/ landings/ luck/ voodoo but the fact is I have half an off-road club as my witness that those things were not the problem. I have drilled the holes out to 4mm. I have purchased shock absorbing rubber o rings, I have left 1 mm of play for the tank. Pretty much at wits ends. It's not just the money ( tanks equal about 40 a pop to get to Australia ) it's the inconvenience, and the dnf's and having to switch classes halfway through a series round. In my opinion the product is not fit for its purpose. I have an Xt9 that's been running strong at the same track, same conditions, no broken tanks, and a 3 year old D8 still on its original tank. Really wanted to like this brand, but I don't really wanna be a guinea pig for its products.

I'm gonna see if Tower can help me out with something, otherwise keep an eye out for an nb48 with less than 20 mins runtime in the for sale Aussie section. Real disappointed.

That sucks. Just got back from racing today. Lot of Teknos out there and also the truggies. Not one DNF due to the tank. Did you cut down the overflow tube.

Can't really tell. But your pipe looks too close to the tank. Maybe the heat is softening the tank mounts, causing it to break. Just a guess.

Here's another photo whole car, I understand your point about the heat, but my tanks have cracked in different places every time. Yes the overflow tube has been halved. We have big triples here that's whT I suspect, but I'm also running my xray truggy today, no problems

What is your ride height in the rear. Looks like you have no preload on the rear spring. Are you landing on the downslope or on the flat area causing the chassis to slam on the the ground. My buggy has 2 gallons on it and have crashed many of times. And I have not had one thing break on me yet. On my Mugen i was breaking arms and shock towers. Sucks that you are having issues with the tank. But Tekno will take care of you.

I have Matt wolter setup on it as per Tekno site so 24/25mm rear ride height. The chassis will of course touch down at any ride height. Team Durango tanks also break here, others are saying. Still, a buggy that can't land a decent jump without spilling its guts everywhere is not impressing anyone

Please contact our customer support. We'll help you out and try to figure out a solution for you. I think we need to add more info on the installation instructions and possibly include another o-ring for the top of the tab (2 below, 1above the mounting tab).

It's interesting that you are having repeat breakages. If you could send us more pics and info to our customer support staff that will help us help you.

Something is causing the breakages, we had almost a dozen buggies and 4 truggies racing today with no issues. We'll get it figured out for you, shoot us an email.

Growing pains. Every car has them. Especially first batch ones. At least Tekno is being active on the boards to resolve the issues. Most companies will not,and just change a part in the next batch and never tell the end consumer of this change.
