Serpent 811E Buggy Thread

So i have an opportunity to get some nice shorty packs at a nice price. Also they are my only option if i want to race this weekend. Im thinking about trying them but i am very nervous about doing so. Im just not sure if im going to have a negative experience with them from the reduced weight in the rear.

Just like other cars, couple setup tweaks, if even needed and they should be good.
You can run them rear and most of the weight comes of the middle, some slightly from the rear.

I've been running shorties for the last six months in the 811-E and love them! I started with them all the way back but have been running them full forward for the last couple of months. The car feels better to me in corners and in the air. I also have my buggy down to 7lbs flat ready to race.

Finishing up a full rebuild before outdoor seaon starts. The semi-painted body is awesome for a quick "1-color" paint job. I got a can of Spaz Stix Fireball Orange and very happy with how it turned out.
Wheels and tires are just for testing around the yard.
On a side note, is it possible to get the rear 2.0 lexan mudguards by themselves? Anyone have a part number if so?

Finally put some laps down and I love it. The quality of this kit far surpasses all others!
My only question is i noticed the servo saver does seem weak. I have it set at 4mm. Is it required to upgrade to the hard spring or will cranking it down more help solve this?

Hi! Received my Serpent four days ago. Built it in two days and had a test drive yesterday. The build went without any issues. I think it has superb quality.
Only problem is that I forgot to put window masking tape before I painted it
But otherwise I have only one thing to say - I love it!
Diff oils: 10k-12k-7k
Shock oils: 35wt front/27.5wt rear
Motor: LRP Dynamic 8 2000KV / 16T pinion
ESC: Hobbywing Xerun 150A
Servo: Savox 1256TG
Battery: Zippy 6000mah 35C
Tarmac tires: Schumacher Venom 114/yellow Serpent wheels
Tires for everything else: AKA I-beam soft pre-mounts.

Did you end up running the shorty packs or standard length at RaceEm? Most people I've asked locally are running the hard spring. Chicky from Serpent also recommended it when I built up my kit.
