When I first tried the app it said connecting and then went to demo. Sad for a second.
Closed app and reopened and it said connecting and then a popup came up and asked what I wanted to do when this app is used or something like that. Checked a box and said OK and then it connected. Has connected 1st time every time since then.
If the HW is getting power its trying, maybe give it another try and see if there's a popup hidden on another page or something?

Also - looking at the Datalogging - my SMC 7200 brand new bat hits 5.99, motor temp at 152 deg and ESC at 164 deg.
What should ESC Temp be?
Also based on the Motor temp - what would be a better gearing?

Pro 4 Tekno
ESC RX8 R2 - no fan
motor HW 4700 geared 14/44
2S SMC 7200 Race Formula
Indoor Dirt Medium bite large track
Trigger finger - Happy

Yes there has been a popup asking if you want to (paraphrasing) "Use this as default when this device connected" I chose YES.

Also when I press APPLY it says "Settings Stored!" but still cannot see any settings. Maybe software issue with Note 2 version 4.1.2?

That's probably not your log. Hold the inc button to clear it and then your data will start getting saved. You have to clear old logs, it will not over write.
Run the fan, 2s 4x SCT works esc's hard.

Also, just to put it out there since you mentioned scary low batt voltage in the log... if your using custom lvc like I do its a total voltage, not per cell.
So if you want 3.4v per cell, lvc gets set to 6.8v.

F06...Thx for the heads up on the log, (i am not sure if that is mine or not - i didn't clear from factory) i'll clear when I get back to the track and go from there. and install my fan. Voltage is set to standard 2S.

Randy - based on those screen shots for the app any thoughts?

I'm pretty sure they come with a full log memory from the factory.
Also, just a gearing suggestion, I run that same exact setup with a 16t pinion. Went from 14 to 15 to 16 and that was best to me. I also run 10° to 15° of ESC timing and it rips. I temp at 140° to 145° after 10+ minutes. Outside the can temp. Data log temp is inside and about 50° higher.
Two different indoor tracks, both medium largish in size med/high bite clay.

Try custom lvc at 6.9 or 7 volt, you should still get a good solid 10 min and be nicer to your lipo. 2s lvc is too low for my liking but that's just me.

5.99 likely for a brief second. Make sure your LVC is set to 2s. In 4wd SC you should be running a fan by the way, just to be safe.

I'm not familiar with the HW motor but 165 on our 4 poles is fine.

Nick if the phone/app can read the software version from the esc, it's working. So when that screenshot was taken, what didn't work?

The guys are right, if you want to assure you get a clean full data log run, clear the memory each time you're ready to hit the track. Depending on what "streams" your recording you can record a few runs(time affects the amount of runs also).

However if I"m hard core testing and I need all the data, I clear the memory before I toss the car down by powering up the car, holding down the "inc" button until you hear a chime reboot.

Awesome - Fan in, LVC - 2S and Datalog i will clear

APP - it connects, but I only see the outline of the HW App - and the tabs on top - but no data is seen so I can't change anything. It also shows the Version of software in the ESC in the upper left corner so is connecting.
(SEE PIC on the LEFT)

If I am in DEMO mode I see some data that was there before I ever hooked up the ESC (which is just DEMO data).
(SEE PIC on the RIGHT)

PS - i have tried powering down phone - reinstalling HW App, disconnecting from ESC several times. Tried with ESC plugged into battery and switch on and OFF - however the app will only start in DEMO mode when any battery connected

Galaxy Note 2 v 4.1.2
Plugged into Data / fan port
Hotwire has green light
RX8 G2 has red DB light
App on phone changes to V246 in upper left corner but no data shows on screen
RX8 G2 - brand new
Tried app with LIPO plugged in and switch off and on - but will then app will only stay in DEMO, so the pictures were taken with phone plugged into ESC , no other power source to ESC , tried with switch off and on no difference
HOTWIRE to my laptop works fine
