SC10 4x4 Thread
How about a center diff and a "slipper" clutch?

I sold my SC10 4x4 recently, but when I had it, the RC Shox center diff worked for me on our track that Blockades work well on (ie. a loose and dusty 1/8 dirt track, NOT an indoor clay track)...

Discussion is what builds understanding and an increase of knowledge, and for some, its unfortunately a two sided affair.
Your honest experience with the product is helpful, regardless if its good, bad, or otherwise.
You can give insight into what you felt was bad, what could be improved upon, what you did to get your VTS setup to hook up, etc. That is the benefit of collaboration of the thread and is quite prevalent in other threads like the Tekno SCT410 one where others discuss ideas, issues, etc. and take an honest assessment of what they experience, good or bad, and come together to find a good solution.
But if we just go into "It sucks, use *this*", what good does that ultimately do when you don't go into details of what you saw, etc?
But again, you are ignoring what you said in your post that you are complaining that "others" do. Pretty much like a person complaining that X is bad until it benefits them, then, they become silent on the subject.
The person you are referring to posts can be hard to read through at times, but he is honestly trying to communicate what he is seeing which I think those who are doing as such and willing to have an actual discussion are a benefit to the thread. Just as some of your the items you have posted are beneficial as well.
Regardless, please let us know the races that the two gentlemen you mentioned won that were conditions that people have been using the Center Diff to their benefit. (loose, 1/8 style tracks). With this information we can then inquire about specific setups from those races for those two and use that as a basis when recommending people what to start with for those conditions.
As WC has mentioned previously about his Team Associated Teammates, I am sure if there were events that this took place he can get that information for us as well to the benefit of all with the vehicle that run on those conditions.
In a way, its like getting back to how offroad used to be back in the day where dirt was well, dirt

For the stuff you run on WC where from what I have heard from people that race with you is like "painted concrete", so no, I wouldn't see you using those.
Kind of part of the fun of the hobby, especially offroad which to me is the changing conditions and requirements of tires etc. Having ran touring car for awhile back in early 2000's, it was a nice change of pace.
I am assuming you have some experience with this in some form, maybe as the day wears on you switch to a different compound or foam insert for the next, heat, etc. would be the equivalent for you.

You all are proving the point even farther for me I run on a 1/8 track and the pros never race this becouse big race they clean it up and fix the holes no indoor track for a 100 miles I don't mean to make a fight I think we all for got to ask the guy what tipe of tack he runs on if you run a stock ft out here and not a pro diver you in the b main I'm all about saving money

Another option at least for the 1/8 crowd is the RC Monster Slipperential. Offers a Slipper and Center Diff setup all in one package. From what I have heard from those who use it, they like it.
can't tell by the pic for sure but I am assuming like a double dee?
If so, one of the tracks here when the surface is hard those work really well on, though tread life can be short.
During the late winter there is an indoor motocross track where when race AKA gridirons in super soft compound or a similar tire work well on. Fun to run on, tracks are usually huge.

WOW.....i just got my hand slapped by the mods for using foul language on here..........i apologize to anyone who has never heard a bad word and Cain i will not get into all the back and forth with you guys over something you feel offended about...........basically my post stated how i felt about a product that you happen to like, i also stated that what works for me may not work for you...........it is the problem with sites like these the threads start off about a certain product and then it turns into a penis measuring thread...........mods should look more into cleaning up the jr high mentality on some of these threads then worry about the language..............hope i dont get kicked off because i dont use the same parts or drive the same way everyone else does.........p iii
Guess what one of the things I learned was while growing up? (far earlier than junior high)...to know the rules ahead of time, and follow them. I guess you could say not knowing, nor following the rules, is a bit "jr high", no?
Lets keep it cool peeps... Back to the topic of the thread!
I would be more willing to try the center diff if it wasn't $70 shipped to my house. Did Marcus get kicked off Rctech? 6 month's ago he would have been all over this center diff discussion.
Maybe see if you can find someone parting out there vehicle and get it at a discount?
As for Marcus I am not privy to what happened that got him suspended, however he is still available taking questions, orders, etc. via his website. If you have questions on his lineup of sc10 4x4 products feel free to let me know as well and I can run them by him and post his response.
I think a big thing to keep in mind when running the center diff is to make sure you have proper mesh and your motor plate isn't bent, etc. Based on what I have read, one common issue that appears to be tied to a bent motor plate is stripping of the spur gear.

once again i apologize for my foul mouth........i never once said the cdiff sucked i said it wasnt for me and my statement about wasting money was not meant to sway him in one direction it was meant to help him understand that many people waste money buy what the next guy is buying just because it worked for him or 50 other people.......i came up driving 2wd stadium trucks (rc10) back in the days and thought i would never go electric in fact hated electric but look at me now.....i am all about electric because of driving someone elses rig and seeing the potential of electric......i have learned alot from this forum and others and dont mean to come off like a total anus
so i apologize and wish you all a great day of racing.......even i forget sometimes that i got into this hobby because it is fun................p iii

It wasn't that bad IMO but it kept going around in circles and I think a mod just felt it best to shut it down. One of the participants posted a PM that Marcus sent that was not foul but not nice either.
A PM should stay a PM and if you don't want to converse with the person after that don't. Put them on ignore list. But the other side, remember that it's real easy for the recipient to copy past a pm to the thread.

That a tazer WC? Found those to be nice on dusty tracks with just a small amount of loose stuff. Anything looser and the enduros seem good for me.
Am I the only one that misses the nice big spikes that were popular in the old'n days? My Kyosho Javalin had some rippers

lol, I miss the mad max style tires too. For the whole vintage class that is one thing I think people are missing on is using modern rubber. Its vintage, should use the vintage tire and experience how it used to be.
