Ya, I'm aware aluminum weighs more, I've been in aerospace for over 22 years. I'm just surprised it felt like a 3/4 of a pound heavier and that seems like a step backwards to me. I'm talking b44 weight.

Cherry I'm on my way to airport and then off to Bellingham. I'll be going to 4 seasons from noon to three tomorrow if you want to hang out. Going by myself, my buddies are busy. I'm curiouse about the c4.2 but after the mid motor 22 headaches I had I'm not sure mid motor is for me. My new b4.2 has exceeded my expectations in every way. The steering is rediculouse on my current setup and after the track warms up I can almost wheelie on the straights but maintain control. If the c4.2 is better than that then count me in....

Im sure it does offer an advantage but I wouldnt recommend buying them unless you have a lot of money to spend cause they wont last long. I like the pucks drive system and I think they would be awesome out of steel cause they would last forever but aluminum is just too soft of a metal to warrant spending that amount of money.

There is a lot of stuff you could do to lighten your car and allow the motor to turn faster. I think the essentials are the Avid triad slipper and the aluminum top shaft. those two things alone will make such a huge difference. You could put titanium screws and hinge pins in it to lighten it but I think they are unnecessary, especially since titanium stuff is outrageously expensive. A trick i have found to help keep motor temps down is to remove the bearing seals of the bearings that sit in the transmission. seals cause resistance and in turn causes the motor to work more to turn the spur gear. the less work the motor has to do, the cooler it will run. I run a Novak Vulcan motor(timing goes to 45) and I run mine at where 55 would be and my motor is only 110 degrees after a run with a 76/30 ratio.

It is heavier but last night took my B4.2 and did a ten min. practice and then the c4.2 with same tires and stuck with C4.2 for the night. I used saddle packs and liked it. Been in this less than a year and on the track last night it felt better, indoor clay med. to high grip, slippery in a few spots but felt it would do what I wanted more than the B4.2. I got to where I could push it more just my driving is so inconsistent. Overall nice to have both and jump from one to the other during practice. Going to keep the same setup for awhile and just drive.

It has need almost a year since B4.2 was upgraded, I would like Associated to communicate on their 2wd buggy future and what to look forward to. Is Cenro their car for the long haul in MM, what is plan for B4, basic platform plans for their 2wd buggie section would be cool. Granted they can't show their full deck to their partners if that would not bode well with them but something would be nice.

Just got home from the track and racing today and thought I'd share my day today. We ran 3 heats just cause we have a big race next weekend so we wanted to get a little bit more track time in. Rd 1, I tq'd with an 8/5:29.675 and second place was 9 seconds back. Rd 2, I made no changes and ran a faster 8/5.13.001 and second place was 13 seconds back. Rd 3, I elected not to run because they let someone water the track who didnt know what he was doing and caused lakes and rivers all over the place and I dont feel like driving in that crap. For the main, I sill made no changes. Car ran great although there were some spots were it was a little loose where it normally wasn't but I suspect that was cause we ran immediately after the 1/8th nitro 30 minute main but hey, thats racing. Car still felt great other than in those few spots I was referring to earlier. I finished 2nd with a 17/10:36.489 and was never more than 3 seconds behind the leader. I did lead most of the race but lost the lead when I came up short on the tripple which was my fault, and subsequently hit a pipe trying to get going again to maintain the lead after being cornered. After that, I just pushed hard, stayed on his bumper trying to pressure him to make a mistake but didnt work. Finished less thN half a second behind him.

The point of the story is that while yes I got beat, and yes I got beat by a 22 2.0, did I go inside the hobby shop and dump $700 on a new buggy and all the hopups that the guy who beat me had? No, I shook his hand we laughed and congratulated each other on a good race. I just find it funny how so many people go racing and get beat so they blame it on there cars and racing gear and go dump a ton of money on new stuff just to have what the winner had.

Just thought I would share my thoughts for the day. Sorry if it makes some one all pissed off, not trying to make anyone mad.

Default B4.2. Slipping or not

I had a B4.2 for awhile and love it except when I get on the straights it seems like it is taking along time to get up to speed, like it is slipping. I am running a LRP Flow team works speed control, I have adjusted my diff and tightened my clutch several time with no change. Any suggestions?

Thanks Chris

I assume everyone heard about the combo? $325+ shipping after $25off code, get both b4.2 and centroc4.2 as one. That's almost $100 cheaper than separately.

What pinion do i need for 17.5 blinky? Med indoor carpet track
We are running 75 spur associated b4.2 upgraded slipper and like a 31-33 depending on the lay out it will be different but it works well for a tight lay out

i agree with you their friend i am newer to the buggy class and i am in top 3 each and every time i have run the car, i feel like people are almost giving up on trying new things for their car which could be faster and after they get beat by a 22 or kyosho serpet etc. they go and buy it why? that guy could be a sponsored driver or like a few guys around the place i live no sponsored but sure as hell can run with the big dogs
