Well guys tonight i have tried my new mods. Chassis stiffeners=ALOT less steering, i didnt have enough steering to compensate for the over powered chassis stiffeners. But if you have too much traction especially steering maybe this is nothing else is working for you. 2nd is the esc shelf, i did not have chance to try and move my electronics around and test it maybe tommorow, however having the esc shelf did stiffen up the rear end a bit, and took some front traction away, this was with a EXTREMELY thin and rigid shelf that rested on the existing battery strap. I would say if you have good side to side traction with good transitioning speed from left to right then try it and see how you like it

I'm going to try running the esc shelf tonight. It's the associated unit. Should I add weight to the side pod where the esc used to go? Right now I have my transponder there.

First off I would try it with out weight then I would add like a 1/4 oz or a small unit of weight in each rear triangle id also run the resr ballast weight if you are not already

I'm in the process of building my buggy and while building the shocks, I saw that the manual says to use 5mm offset spring retainer cups. On the parts tree, all the spring cups are labeled with numbers (1-4) but nothing labeled #5. I just got confused so what am I missing here?

You want the medium height cup. The short are 0, the medium are 5 and the tall are 9.

Got to wheel the B4.2 last night a little bit, maybe 10 laps or so, felt very good, and nimble. Definately different from coming from my 22 which felt heavy. I will say that I do liked the way the 22 jumped vs the b4.2 but I like the nimbleness of the b4.2 so far.

I will do a very good comparison in a few weeks of the two. 24/81 is what I am running for gearing on a 10.5, my esc is in blinky also still because the track I run on wouldn't have a benefit either way, so this allows me to tame it. Any other suggestions on that?

You know I kind of like that heavy feel in a car, I feel like I can drive it more aggressively. I'm starting to think I shouldn't have purchased a 2nd B4.2 but should have switched to the 22 2.0.

I've dumped a ton of money into the B4.2s though so I think I'm committed for a good while.

yeah, grasshopper. I am dont hopping up cars. It adds no value, lol. I will only be doing durability fixes in the future. I have a losi and a b4. I am on the fense on which one I like better. Next weekend I will have the 2.0 parts on my 22 and will compare. But like Captcha said, the b4 is more nimble and lighter, which for 17.5 is very nice.

I would always go with the lighter car, as you can add weight if you feel you need it and affect the cog much more with the same weight added. The suspension of a lighter car also works much better because it doesn't have to fight as much inertia, but i agree with you, that heavier vehicles are often easier to drive aggressively. From an engineering standpoint i would say that the lighter car is ALWAYS better, but at the same time you need more self-control to effectively use the benefits of a nimble car (that is not set up perfectly)

My son and I did not have the same experience with the chassis stiffeners. Running the Top Gear Spring Shoot Out Cavalieri setup with the shelf and inline electronics, and removing some lead (rear triangles, behind the battery) to compensate for the extra 35 grams of the chassis stiffeners, we had plenty of steering. This is on high bite clay indoor, clay suburbs with rear inserts up front on my car, and gold barcodes with rear inserts up front on my son's car. My car is ~ 1530 grams and my son's is a bit lighter at 1510. The cars are very nimble but still easy to drive consistently in 17.5.
