Default B44.1 VS B44.2

I'm considering running a B44.? on an indoor clay track this winter.
I was wondering if the B44.2 a better choice then the B44.1 dollar for dollar?
Is the shorter chassis better indoors on a smaller track?

I use the 44.1 and have no issues with keeping up with the competition .

The 44.2 is nice though , its has smoother steering & the 12mm shocks allow plush landings ...

The .2 VTS slipper is also better then the 2 pad ...

I went straight from a b44.1 (w/ bb's) to an Avid b44.2, so I cant comment on the difference out of the box difference. The difference between the .1 & the Avid .2 is DRAMATIC! I would recommend finding a deal on a b44.1 w/ bb's & spend the saved $ on the Avid chassis & Avid .2 conversion.

Smile Best mod class ESC & Motor

Hey guys-

Been out of RC for years. But recently I've discovered a RC track somewhat close to where I live (NorCal hobbies and raceway). So I am back at it again! Trying to build a b44.2 - need recommendations on the best ESC + motor setup for the mod class for the B44.2.

Also, recommendations in opinion/spur setup,
Battery brand/spec/ charger would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking at the Orion, tekin, team powers brands for my ESC/Motor. I have NO idea what brand or type of battery to get. As well as a good starting point for the spur/pinion setup. Charger - either Orion, Hitec, or ?

Thx in advance!

My suggestion for an ESC and motor is thise combo from Hobbywing.

http://www.falconsekido.com/products...-v3-combo-lite

When you place the order you put in the notes what motor and ESC color you want. Get the 6.5 It's ballistic fast. I'd be glad to share my ESC settings with you through PM. There is no way someone is gonna convince me a better combo exists at this price point or value That combo is only $199.00 Only other thing you should order while your on there site is the program box.

It makes trackside adjustments super easy.

For a battery get these. They are in stock at the US warehouse.

Run the stock spur with 19 tooth pinion. You'll be good to go.

You can outfit the car the with motor, ESC and batteries for under $300.00

For the charger the Hitech are ok and work fine. I really like that 10amp Orion Chrager but it aint cheap. Protek's dual charger is really nice as well but you'll need a dedicated power supply.

Sweet tips! So I'm confused though, when I am looking at their website.

Is it the 540 SD version or the 3656 SD that I should be looking at? What is the difference?

Also, it seems that based on my research most people run 7.5T? What is the difference between 6.5t v 7.5t? It used to be with brushed motors, battery life is a big decision factor in terms of the motor turn you run. Now I'm assuming that is not a consideration with Lipo. So why isn't everyone running the b44.2 at the lowest turn motor possible? Hard to control?

Oh I also picked up the Orion Advantage Pro charger! I hope my old LRP 14 amp power supply will be able to power it?

Thanks.

Gary

That supply will work fine Gary. I'll be using a little tiny 10amp supply most of the time when mine gets here. You want the 540sd motor combo. The 3656 is the 4 pole short course motors.

Again when you check out on Falkons site you put in the notes the color of ESC and motor choice. In your case 6.5 You could always start with less motor. A 7.5 or 8.5 will move the B44 really well.

6.5t seems to be the motor of choice in the B44. You'll never want for more power with it anyway and the beauty of these new speed control is you can dial it down pretty easily if it's to much or gear it a shorter. The lower the number the more RPM's same as it was back in the day with brushed motors.

Buy stock in front arms LOL Thats the only weak part on the B44 platform

Thanks brother! I am going to pull the trigger on that combo. Will definitely hit you up later for ESC settings. I have to build the car firs! Can't wait.

If you're talking about the black one... It's DC only...

The ac/dc feature of the white one is the best part.

Make sure to thread the rod ends on the shocks all the way this seems to be something overlooked by even experienced builders. You will also want to pick up RPM rod ends for the rest of the car and toss the stock kit ends in you box in case your in a bind...

Still a great price for a charger that will charge AND discharge at 10+ amps. My $180 ProTek won't discharge over 5 amps. But I do agree on the convenience of an simple AC/DC all in one. Problem is the standard one only charges at 6 amps and the advanced model that does 10 amps is still $200
