the offsets are supposed to be the same. granted different after market rims may not be exact, but not off by 3mm. the face is just different. the flat faced rims have a recessed area for the nut that makes the same offset as the dish. The flat face is just tricking your eye. That being said, the guys in the rb6 forum clain the aka, JC, avid, AE, proline and kyosho wheels are all not the same. I just run the avid wheels because I like them.

Ah ok, I gotcha, they just look like they are deep cause of the way the nut sits flush with the rim!!! Alrighty thanks

When i first got back into rc in October I was buying proline wheels which have a flush face. They looked great at first but they get subjected to a lot of abuse due to being flush.

I use 1 X ring and 1 standard associated ring on each shock and they work great. I have messed around with switching locations of each and they seem about the same but I usually put the X ring on the bottom closest to the cap

The more I thought about it the more I had to check. The do fit, and there are two types. One clear silicone X ring and one red silicone/rubber/neoprene version. I was using one clear at the top, and one red at the bottom, my Velvet BB's have been run on the same track, with the same setup on my 44.1 for 2 seasons (yes, I have TQ'ed and won our large events and am plenty fast) and the oil looks like new, with no sticking or binding.
I'm not braging on the Kyosho shocks per-se (they are killer though) but the shock is essentially the same lower cartridge shock, with the same arrangement...so the X rings may be a very large part of the equation.

Also, not to be argumentative, but just because something comes with something, doesn't always make it the best option, especially if I'm hearing daily replacement etc.

OCRC can be pretty high bite...especially during the Surf City race.

Talking about this yesterday with a friend......and if you watch the interview with Maifield from the Nats, he states "you may need both cars" I wounder if AE is going to release a new car kit after the worlds depending on how they finish mid motor (if they even run mid motor....and if the track is sugared for high traction) or will they bump the price on the B4.2 up near the Losi22 2.0 and Kyo RB6 around $360-ish and include the C4.2 conversion so you can run the buggy either way.

Or.....will it be a whole new kit...hens the "both cars" statement.

I have heard they want to start selling the c4.2 but I don't know when they are looking to put them out there.

Cool assuming after worlds, but personally I'm gonna stick with the rear motor car.

+1, same here!
I tried a TLR in mid motor and our track isn't high enough bite.
I like rear motor and it works!
Why try to fix it?

I stopped by OCRC for a while today but left before the higher mains. Expected to see more mm cars but didn't. I for will definitely be picking up a kit. I was one of the only guys running a mid 22 when it first came out. I think in blinky it could be really good. By the way OCRC was definitely high bite, you could hear the tire squeal at the end of the back straight.
