Never dealt with (or heard of) this place, but I gave it a go. We'll see if their real time inventory counts are worth a damn.

I bought the updated diffs and rear gear box. I'm still waiting on the straight cut pinion so i cant check really check the backlash yet but are we using the diff shims again? I dry fit my diff and tried to get the shims in. It is a tight fit without the shims, you have to work it hard to get the shims in. Its doesn't have to side to side slop that the old gear box had for the shims.

Still set the mesh like the original? Or do i need to just hike my skirt up, put the shims in and run it
I used one on the inside and no others. I "think" they engineered them out.

Cant really engineer them out. They are there to adjust for the plastic contraction after it cools coming out of the mold. Every case might be shimmed differently. Some will need none, some will need two.

If its the shims on the pinion, yes they are no longer needed.

Ok, now im confused. The shim on the pinion for the ring gear is no longer used on the new pinions. The shims for the diff bearings to adjust the the backlash (shims placed against the bearings) are still used on the new gearbox. Ok now does this sound correct?

question on shimming of the center diff. my EB48 has the variety of shims between the outdrive cup and the bearing as shown in the older manual, but the spider gears don't have the shims.

What determines if it needs to have the shims between the outdrive cup and bearing on the center diff? I want to know if I can remove these.
