It wont work with the vts. Only the triad or v2. Why do you want that one?

I have solved my on power push problem with a sway bar kit. I was surprised considering most setup don't use one especially on an outdoor clay track

Get the AE Black cover.

In the same area of the car, if you hate buying the gear cover just for the plug in the end here is the right part number from McMaster-Carr: 9750K22 You get 100 plugs for $2.96.

Really? I don't have the VTS as I actually have a B4.1 worlds upgraded and went with the Avid Triad.

The part number for the black and the clear are only different by 1 (ASC7460 vs ACS7461) was there a running change to the clear one? I have both at home...I'll have to compare them tonight...but again if there has been a running change my clear one is from a B4.1 Worlds so...

Clear cover came on the kits and the black comes with the RTR's. I prefer the black myself. Both covers are the same size and fit the VTS.

That was what I thought until the other post. I have a B4.1 Wolds kit with upgrades making it effectively a 4.2 so I have the clear cover. But I lost my slipper plug at a race and had to buy the whole cover to get a new plug and all they had was the black one so it is sitting in my parts box...now along with 100 spare caps. LOL. Like I said I run the Triad so I can't comment on the fit over the VTS but knowing they made a running change to the shock towers it could have been possible.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I am new to the B4.2 thread and will be building my kit this weekend. I am starting with a Novak Edge with 10.5 combo and 24/81 gearing. The only changes I plan to make right away is RPM ball cups and the new ESC mount plate.

I have always wanted to jump into this class. It is very strong in my area with the best drivers all running in an Open motor class. I may swap out the 10.5 for an 8.5 or 7.5 later once I get the chassis dialed in.

Here comes the fun!

you "might" fine that gearing to be off. I tried that gearing when I had a 10.5 and it was a bit slow, I ended up adding in boost. I normally do 25/78 now and still might boost.

Making a vented gear cover today, black of course ..

Will have a mesh screen covering the vent holes to keep debris out & allow heat to escape .

Cooler motor , cooler slipper = improved performance ....

Tip for gear cover plug lost ...

Trim half the lip off the plug so it fits flush ...
No more lost plug covers if you do ....

JConcepts ballcup set. Looks awesome, and seem to solve some of the known clearance problems

I really hate redoing my cups, because my alignment will be jacked and it will take time to get it all correct, but these look pretty good. I will probably give these a try. a few of my rpm's are binding and if these dont bind, are durable and have the hole for easy stud removal, then its worth a shot.
