Team Associated B4.2 Thread

It looks like the rear tower and wing mounts are AE. The c4.x used screws to mount the wing. And the tower looks different to me. The tranny case "looks" like the c4.1 case, but its so basic and plain it could be a protype or just the c4.1 tranny. The entire front end is a b4 front end with what looks to be brass posts up front. I dont think AE used the brass bulkhead though. The battery mounting system looks the same to me. The chassis could be different. Alum proto chassis are pretty easy to make, but I kinda think its a c4.x chassis. Since so many AE parts are used in the conversion, I can only imagine that chassis and tranny would be the main focus for improvement. i.e. flex, length, tranny height, etc. And like I said the rear tower looks different. But to my untrained eye, it looks like a b4.x with 98% of the c4.x conversion.

I do believe AE had posted on FB that the team drivers were running Centro C4.2's..could be wrong though...
Went back and double checked on FB....AE says multiple times "Centro converted B4.2" So I'm not exactly sure what that means lol. Looking at the shock towers of the C4.2 (front is carbon) and the C4.X that the AE guys were running at the shootout...it appears that they are running the C4.1 (stock AE plastic front tower)
Things that make you go hmmmmm....
lol

I thought the .2 was still in pre production? Cav ran a +12 chassis in europe. But the c4.2 on the website says a +8. So, who knows where centro is in the production of the conversion. i can say, its wayyyyy to expensive. $260 US for a chassis, gear case and a battery strap. Plus misc hardware.

yeah, I heard avid was making one, lol. look at those cute turnbuckles. Ok, Think the adjustable height and the slot is pretty good. I like the idea. Easily tune the weight bias. +1 avid, nice work.

+1 to the avid products. I heard a few locals complain about the triad, but I rarely hear anyone complain that avid products have poor fit/finish or durability issues. The original carbon uppers were updated because they were breaking, but mine have been getting abused and work great. I was a little surprised they never made a rear hub for the b4/b44/sc10.... Exotek and yaiba released good designed and quality. Was kinda looking forward to some black hubs with laser etching.

Anyone catch that line in hot tub time machine?
Back on topic though. Some one asked if i wanted more roll but this is where i get a little confused. I thought having the car roll more allowed it to keep traction longer before breaking loose. That seem to contradictory to what happens when the esc is on a shelf though. Car felt more twitchy to me. Am i complexly off base? You would think after being in the hobby for 25 years i would get roll center. I tend to just follow what the fast guys do! ( yes i know thats a bad idea)

Thanks. That does make sense. Im running the shaved brace with 1 spacer under it but still have the A hubs. Getting the C hubs will also raise the roll center correct? ( for the post 3 above) Yeah i know its been covered but i missed the entire B4.1 thread. Im still putting together what everyone knows is common knowledge on this car because i have been out of buggy for over 2 years.
