According to what i have read, 6 pins on an outdoor track, and i should have plenty of rear drive, but it felt like i was really pulling from the front.

Anyway, track ran great on the outdoor track, very controllable on jumps, and the handling was spot on. I changed a few things, and worked with some tires and in the main the truck was solid. I removed 3 ounces of weight from the front end, had 6 ounces total, and the truck seemed better, i need to put it back on the scales now to see what my split is.

Sounds like the spring has had it, you need the Hd spring. I think Cam was the only one who pinned one and he was on on high bite. You dont need to pin it though, make sure everything is clean and dry, replace the spring and you should be good to go.

Good call on the pins Cain, the latest pins are much more durable than the first ones but eventually will wear.

thanks. I remember back when I had the first type of pins that the bite got lower as they wore. The new pins are better, and a nice touch that you kept improving the product versus sitting pat on it Marcus!

I threw a bunch of changes at the truck this week, including the 19t/20t pulley setup, stiffened the rear springs, added some front toe-in, etc. My servo seems to be shot, it won't stay put at center and I think it's shorting out my BEC because the truck kept shutting down, so I didn't get a real test in, but the few laps I made felt better.

Pins are new, one run in, and the spring is new. Not sure which one it is, its silver-ish looking.

It doesnt seem to slip, under finger pressure, will check it again. The truck was good, the track had good traction but not like being on clay. I will install 8 pins, and see how it drives.

I'll sand the back side of washers as well, make sure there seating against the slipper plates.

Do i assemble it all dry, or AE diff grease on the pins and balls?

Thanks, Krom.

Tekno is the new kid on the block with a very well thought out design. Both Losi and Durango and even Traxxas have upgraded their chassis a lot. The OFNA models are almost fully dropped. Krio created the Caster based Rapture now that could become a new challenger. So.....

It's time for something from Associated!

I will hold out a while longer. I am nearly 100% Associated now with only and old Traxxas Mini-Slash and a Jammin SCRT10 that I chopped down to fit the 4wd Buggy class for fun. I jumped into the 4x4 SCT class when the Jammin SCRT10 came out and got that competitive until the Losi conversions (TenT) started to show up. I order the SC10 4x4 on the day of release. So I am rooting for AE all the way.
Yea I'm gearing up for the wicked weekend in August (same guys as PNB) and trying to decide if I want to give my SC10 another go, or jump ship to a Techno. I've invested a lot of time and money into this truck and hate to give up on it, and i'm not a high enough caliber driver to overcome a equipment disadvantage. It was really tough last year keeping up on the bumpy sections and had to land short on the full throttle jump to keep from flipping over backwards.

If they made a 1/10 scale legal truck that could share some parts with my RC8.2e I would be a happy man.

check the RC Shox thread for build info, but I believe you use the AE diff grease on the pins and balls.

whew, that was a lot of catching up. I'm not seeing much talk about the new 550 pro4's anyone running it in this truck?

I'm thinking about getting one and trying it out and potentially putting it in a Tekno down the line on big outdoors and running my old MMP and pro4 in this truck on tight indoor clay.

I've got the exotek center chassis and running saddles inline, think I should switch back to stick or put them up front with the bigger motor?

ARE you running it dry?

Its not going to feEl like clay because you are not on clay!! Its also not going to accelerate like you are on clay either. There may be nothing wrong with it at all maybe your just not used to how a dif'd car feels!

Please follow the instructionS carEfully, YOU MUST USE BALL DIFF GREASE AND ONLY BALL DIF GREASE!

I think it's just to loose, it says to collapse the spring. I didn't do that.

I know I am not on clay, as I said it was a pretty good outdoor surface, not as much traction as clay but a good surface.

The truck is pulling a lot from the front end, and not accelerating like I think it should. Your right thou , I have never owned a 4 wheel drive vehicle , after racing for 20 plus years. So it's new ground for me.

Liking the truck thou , fun, I will get figured out soon.

Don't think this truck needs a 550 4 pole and if you already got exotek and inline saddles that's the best your going to get, but if you want the bigger motor it does work fine in a tekno
