Please email me again as I have been crazy busy and have allot of emails. UPS has confirmed that I have no discounts on extended area surcharge and you seem to be in a expensive area surcharge zone.
I will reply to you tonight as I have to step out of the office this afternoon.

Does any body use the inboards on a sc 10 4x4. i have one wired set. I like it but im thinking the inboards might be easier to put in and take out as the weird one takes some time to get that 10 gauge under the belt cover cant go over cause the wires hit the battery brace and this is with the wires in the back of the truck which seem to be the best way for now. Thanks in advance Rob
You should direct wire from the ESC to bullet plug to the inboard pack however so your other packs would not be used any longer. Other wise you are adding another connector and increasing internal resistance (IR).
Danny says the packs you use now have less IR than the inboard way of doing it though because of how they are wired inside the pack so I guess it would only be for convenience. I have always used inboard and would have to buy all new packs if I were going to switch so its inboard packs for me.

The resistance between a wired pack and inboard pack is the same. The only possible issue with inboard packs is if you don't run good male connectors or use some that don't fit snug you can get the tubes hot and melt the case.
If your 4mm female tubes get worn out you can't replace them. With wired packs you can put new connectors if they wear out.

Thought I saw a post or pm from you that said that there was more resistance with inboard, must not have.
Rob, will still have to relinquish his other packs (just pointing out to Rob) unless he keeps the connector on the ESC and uses a charge lead with proper bullets. But then that's one additional connector inline.
If you need new packs anyway that doesn't matter since the old packs are being discarded.

I never said that inboard had more resistance and if I did it was a mistake. I know some think they have more as they rely on what they see on the charger but that is misleading. When charging a 4mm pack you normally do this with an adapter so you get more resistance as the balance wires are soldered to the 4mm male connector. When charging a wired pack the balance connector is direct at the tabs of the cell which is considered to be a Klevin connection so it will show lower IR. I did some tests many years ago and concluded that the resistance was the same. It makes sense as you have the same amount solder connections on both styles. Inside the inboard pack there is 2 pieces of wire that go from the tab to the 4mm female tubes. On a wired pack you have 2 wires going from the tabs to a Deans or Traxxas female connector so it's the same amount of connections. Only difference in resistance would be if you have longer wires when using one model over the other.

With inboard connectors the tubs end up getting dirty and wear out. Depending on the type of track you run at this may or may not mean a premature end of life for your pack. I'd bet that if one took a survey of melted connectors the inboard packs would have a higher occurrence of melted connection points than wired packs. If inboard vs wired is an option and wired works on your chassis then always go with wired.

danny, i had a thought tonight i was trying to research. all i could find was this so i quoted it. i recently upgrade to 24 volt charging and opted to get the tp820cd.
my question is. would it be better to charge each single of the saddle separately on each port of the charger? or a pointless thought and just charge them with the saddle wires?

I had a customer 4 years ago tell me the IR of his packs had gone up as he was using the GFX to get the IR and voltage after discharge. He was putting the voltage sensing leads at the male Deans. This way he got the data through the connectors. I asked him how many cycles he had on the pack and I doubted the IR would of gone up. I told him to replace his male and female Deans and test them again and he told me the IR was right back to where it was when the packs were new. It's normal for the IR to go up as the pack gets used but if your connectors wear out with a wired pack you can replace them. With inboards your screwed.
