There are studies that show in almost any area time estimates for completion of a project are almost always wrong due to whoever makes the estimate not taking into account anything going wrong. There are always surprises.
That said I think it's pretty clear at the very least they let gen1 stock dry up way too early. It's hard to say for sure but anecdotally they lost a fair bit of business by people getting tired of waiting and going to viper or etc.

I felt that way at first but how pissed would you be if you bought a gen1 brand new today and next week they announced the gen2 at the same time they were available. You'd be even more pissed that they "tricked" you into buying old tech when they knew new stuff was coming.

"im just shaking my head what you cant wait a couple of weeks"
I bought my truck and tekin system on ebay a month and a half ago and there was no rx8 stock then.
" i`m sure this guys know that gen 2 is almost there"
Almost there wouldn't have helped me for the past 6 weeks.
At the very least it was poor timing, weather getting nice in the states and no rx8 stock of any gen for ~2months.

I do have a Mamba Max Pro, I didn't realize I could run it with my T8 1900kv motor on 4s. I emailed Castle and they said "no Problem" just gear conservatively and monitor temps (the usual stuff).
I may give that a try for a bit.....

) but I am personally very glad there are people who are so desperate to play with their toys that that they pay inflated prices on eBay. I sold a NIP red heatsink RX-8 for way more (after shipping and fees) than it is going to cost to get a new Gen2. I even sold a lightly used original 4 hole case model, netting about that same as a Gen2 will cost me and now I get a fresh warranty without paying the $40 3-hole upgrade charge.I had both of these listed on RCTech at "shipped" prices for way less than my "Net" from the eBay sales but all the "smart" guys here wouldn't touch them.
So: "Ha Ha" (and Thank You!) to all the smart guys that wouldn't touch them!
