For "me" it fixed an issue where I could rarely get it into program mode. Also, my buggy felt soo slow and gutless on the a30, but on the a55 it really came alive. There was nothing about the a30 that I thought was better than the a55. I would just find someone local to update it for you. Or you can mail it to Viper for $4-5 and have them do it.

mulepic - there are differences but mostly gearing, set up on the esc is actually very similar, sometimes I have run exactly the same with 17.5 and 13.5.
stunter - PM me and let me know what you are looking to use for motor and what type of crawling are you looking to do. makes a big difference.
Software questions - well, a55 was released over a year ago for the VTX1 and VTX10 series, so we have not done anything different, unless you have an older version (a30). a55 added some more power to the system, fixed from calibration bugs and simplified the boost system so it was not so complicated.
taztal - 1/8 motors will be released in July. No official word on pricing that I am allowed to announce, other than to say, its better than competitive to the marketplace.

Help,
New Copperhead-R system. Ran great at part throttle. Drove out to street to get some speed and as soon as I hit it trigger, it died. It has no life in it, no lights...nothing. Replaced Copperhead-R esc with Copperhead esc and all works well. Hooked Copperhead-R back up and it shows no signs of life. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks.

Hey guys, just wanted to say done 3 meetings with my vtx8 in Ebuggy now and really impressed...it's responsive, smooth and seems to settle out at about 120 degrees, very impressed!
May send my spare in for update and hae one of each...it's bnib, I assume it can still be updated even though nothing's soldered up so there's no connectors for battery power??

Dave - yes
Tech - strange, check all the connections and a different battery, but if it doesn't power on, fill out and RMA and send back to us to look at. Along with gearing, what profile, and how long you ran it. Sorry to hear about the issue.

To the customer who I was speaking with and he dropped the call, I had one more thing to tell you.....
after you update your firmware, make sure to recalibrate you speedo.
We got cut off and his call was transferred to me, so I don't have your number to call you back. As much as I love technology, I hate it.

Sunday the VTX8 with the Viper 4.5 performed will. Helped to me to my 1st ever win on dirt. It was awesome in the MIP Ten-SCTE! Heads up on the sensor wire need a 280mm wire to make in the Ten-SCTE 2.0.
2 Questions:
1) What is the story on the 4WD Short Course Motors??? The show was the 1st I heard anything in Nevada.
2) Time frame getting closer on the 1/8 Motor??? I'm in the middle of the TLR 3.0E build. I have the VTX8. Not gonna run it till I have the motor.

Yeah, that's kinda hot. I'm not familiar with the gearing for the B44. Is that pretty high? How long a race? Ambient temp? What settings are you running? And what software? Not sure what you have tried so far. You aren't boosting, right? Lowering your throttle PWM frequency can lower motor temp. Is it possibly you have drag in your drivetrain? I know...more questions than answers....
