How well do the 8x14 bearings in the front hubs hold up? In the Serpent Truggy they were only lasting about ten minutes, lol.

Tekno, why use 8x16 bearings in the rear hub carriers but then go with 8x14's in the front spindles? Just don't want to buy "upgraded" spindles later when it should have been 8x16's in the first place.

I changed mine once in a 6 month period and they still worked but were showing signs of wear.

I would be willing to bet the 14mm bearings were selected so the spindles could be made more compact. That being said, a big truggy wheel is going to put much more stress on the bearing than a buggy wheel. Also, crashing less will make bearings last longer.

I've had the EB48 since it came out (first production batch).
I wouldn't say I crash a ton now (somewhere around the same amount as most decent club racers). But the EB48 was my first 8th scale, and took me a bit to get used to, so it has gotten a lot of bad crashes. That includes 2 snapped arms and a front drive shaft due to me lawn darting a single front wheel sideways (which when coming down from 20+ feet will snap any arm after doing it a few times like I did). I've not had to replace any of the bearings yet, though in a couple weeks I intend to do a full tear down to check everything over again anyway. I generally blow dirt out with an air compressor that the track has after each race to keep most of the grit off of the bearings and other moving parts.

Good to know on the 8x14 bearings. The buggy is pretty nice, goes together well. My plan is to use what I have laying around, MMM, Tekin 1700kv on 5s. I own the Serpent 811be and a converted MP9 TKI3 so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

In a related yet unrelated post, what foams have you guys been running the tires? No blue groove indoor clay, rougher/looser tracks.

Looks good. Is there a list somewhere of parts needed to make an EB48 an SCT410?

wonder how much of a benefit you see with he current EB48 over an extended SCT410 to 1/8 buggy specs, assuming same parts like chassis, etc. Heck, if its not that much of a different, I could be interested in that then can fully share parts.

Honestly with owning both on a big 1/8 track the buggy is still better than the 410 IMHO.

The sct410 Diffs are 100% better...and now they come in the eb48...all of my diffs still feel like crap in the buggy but it drives OK still...the sct410 is buttery smooth...

What would have been nice is a recall of all of the bad parts instead of only the sct410 stub axles.

I would say the opposite of the last post.

What were all the parts you used?

And what motor/battery combo you running?

Not sure I understand how you accomplished this without the wheel hexes, EB48 spindles, spindle carriers, bearings... possibly drive shafts and camber/sterring links
