Here's what's wrong with Durango.... look at the pro rear shock tower...... notice it's actually TWO shock towers. Stock bolted onto a Losi 4wd SCT tower because he keeps breaking the rears.
Sad part is the kid can drive and actually does very well but I think the car is holding him back.
BTW, they did this because they couldn't get any rear towers.... since then, they did get new ones but guess what... snapped it again on same spot.

I heard that Maifield was thinking about the c4.1 for CC after the first day of practice. Obviously he never did this. maybe AE said no way, maybe it would be too much trying to setup a mid motor conversion that he has never ran. But he did seem to get the RM b4 working well enough for a 2nd place finish.

I liked my mid-motor Cougar, and always wanted to give an Xfactory ride a try.
Speaking of which, I did try the high mounted ESC (I feel like a loser), and I liked it. I removed the 14g from the rear triangles, and it was great. Much crisper through the turns, and more rear bite. I ended up getting rid of the 1mm washers on the rear links, and ran them as low as possible.
As long as there aren't any huge jumps, the tapered AE 1.6 pistons, and K springs are golden. As traction comes up I do find myself wanting to go to a stiffer spring out back though. I keep pulling up the inside front tire coming out of turns. I'll see if I can find a set of take-offs from the RB6 guys.

I think I'm going to leave it be for now to get a baseline with the low inline and then compare with the higher inline after.

I don't recall Jörn Neumann having a problem breaking rear towers. Just saying.

I ran the 210 for roughly a year, and never broke the stock rear tower. Never broke a stock front either.
Bob, no idea where you got that picture, but it's probably not a real Durango team driver.
I made a rear shelf plate out of a spare carbon battery strap. Had to oval the holes slightly, but it worked. Never actually got to test it though because my ESC was too tall and the body wouldn't fit.
