This combo seems the most bang for the buck!

Now if the B2 and the B5 are about the same weight and I got nothing to loose there performance wise, might not be a bad idea to pay an extra 40 bucks for the B5 and have all the power that I will ever need. I could tune down the power to be track specific when I need to via all the other variables such as, clutch springs, clutch shoe material, change the dual rates and expos, etc.
I imagine the 3 extra ports of the B5 doesn't only buy me more power but must has a smoother stable acceleration and a bigger window for holding the perfect tune/ mixture.

Another thing I like about the B5 is the alumimum carb, which is rare, most engines seem to have composite (plastic material)

Than again, of course the B2 would do a little better on the milage I presume?
Giving me what?, 10 to 12min on a 125cc running on a average size short course?
Like I said man, Ask Ron on one of the werks site's. My carbs are all composite, but work just fine. Maybe the brand new one's are different, I don't know, my newest is about 9 or 10 month's old. I'm telling ya, ask Ron. Good Luck....

I have the OS speed, I also ran the 2058 on it, didn't want to pay extra for a pipe, but I borrowed one for testing, they all say the OS pipe is smoother and had more top, I found it different, the 2058 seemed better on the bottom and on the top, maybe I am used to that pipe since I have ran it for about a year, but I liked it better, and with that in mind I do break loose a bit a times, that is why I went with the 2096 to give it a try and it seems a bit soft on the bottom but still all the power I need, just less traction issues with that pipe. So if I were going to buy a b5 or a b2 I would buy the b2 and a 2096 instead of the b5 and a 2058 nvision pipe. I loved the 2096 with my B2, the b2 has so much grunt on bottom and the 2096 made it feel like a speed on top, and my b2 NEVER felt like a speed demon with the 2058 on top end. Here is a link of my B2 with the 2096 pipe check it out

http://www.clbmodify.com/thread-8865.html

BTW the green car has a NEW OS speed with the matching pipe, that engine should make the B2 look slow, but you be the judge of how well the 2096 novarossi pipe works with the B2

Nope it is the stock B2 sleeve Amazing how well it runs with a used piston and rod in it isn't it? To be fair, that piston also only had about 2 gallons on it, but when it was in my Cody King it would always just quit, sometimes at 2 minutes, sometimes at 5, could never figure the dang thing out, heck the front bearing in my B2 is out of my Cody King engine so I know it wasn't the front bearing! When I went to replace the front bearing the piston wasn't up at the top when I pulled the back plate off, at that time there were no replacement parts for the B2 so it was basically a junk engine, well I had already put my Cody king sleeve and crank in my old Orion 7 port, using the old piston because it was a tighter fit (go figure) well I thought both the Werks engine and Orion engines are made at L&M so I figured I would put it in and see what happened, that was over 2 gallons ago (I did measure the rods to check length and they were the same, they actually look the same accept Orion rods have their name stamped on them and have a bit smoother sides.) I still flog the heck out of that engine, and I am sure if you watched the Video that is one monster straight! Both the green car and white one in the video are running Speeds, both drivers also finished 2nd and 3rd last year at the Viet Nam championship race, so for me to be using that little old werks engine on about 5 gallons and they can't seem to catch me until I make a mistake on a corner tells me that werks engine and the 2096 pipe combo are pretty dang good!

Tomorrow we have the first (official) race of the year in Viet Nam I will be using the Werks to qualify then change over to my new OS speed, but at the next race I will be sporting my new Fusion engine from Huston's Engine service

My vote is still for the NovaRossi p5xlt and the 2096 pipe with 41021 header. Combo can't be beat for the price and quality.

SO Optimumrun what engine and pipe combo did you end up going with? On my D8 I have an OS VZ-B V-Spece and 2060SC pipe. Works great. But I stand behind my original comments that the P5XLT and 2096 can't be beat.

try that 2096 on your vspec engine and you will never run another 2060 again That is what I run on my Vspec and it does gooooood

I have not bought it yet...waiting for a Real Estate deal to close to get some $!!!!

It looks like I have decided on the Werks B2 (maybe the B5) with the 2058 pipe from nvision versus the one from Werks......I save 40 bucks and get the same exact pipe.

The B2 is about 150 and the pipe is 60....so for around 200 bucks I get a proven quality
setup with great support.

I just realized the B2 is actually a 3 port not a 2 port. I thought it was a 2 port because the B5 is a 5 port and the B6 is a 6 port.

Based on the information I gathered it confirms to me that this engine has a fantastic low end torque and great mid and high and hold a good tune window.

It is one of the only engines with a metal carb, has a lower head design, rod made of 7075-T6, outputs almost 2.5 hp and all the other top notch specs I read.

Also, the last thing on the list which is really not that important but if I get it, it's nice....the fact that the head is black. It is hot looking and will go will any body color scheme!

Now, the B5 is cool too for an extra 50 bucks....5 ports, outputs about 2.7hp and operates at a max 39,000 rpm while the B2 max at 34,000 rpm.

So......$210 or .........$260 !!!!!!!! I guess it depends on my Real Estate deals!!!!!!!

FWIW
From the B6 description --------

Developed as a specialized 1/8 buggy engine, the B6 has been designed to provide the precise control that is required to compete at the highest levels of off-road buggy racing. The B6 is a true 5 port engine that offers buttery smooth bottom end power delivery, with a strong mid to top end pull.
