i think the ae truck turned in and rotated better in the corners. my driving style is more suited for 2wd buggies and sc trucks, so the losi scte(which i tried last year) and the tekno seem more "sluggish" while cornering, but the tekno and losi will definitely handle the 1/8th supercross tracks better just due to weight and the tekno def. with those bigger shocks. But i would like to try sc104x4 with all the added weights and 16mm springs on the shocks. only if a new car doesnt come out.

ah, ok. your racing indoor tracks. The scte 2.0 did uprising well on the CC with was a really high bite track. But your track is probably more tight and technical. The sc104x4 work fine on the indoor track here as well.

true, i raced it at island raceway (very hi bite, well groomed smooth indoor)
family hobbies raceway, vineland nj(outdoors-good clay)
critters raceway (indoor, before they took dirt out )
Barnstomers rc (outdoor great 1/8th style track)

Barnstormers i struggled on the double as losi trucks cleared it easily.
Family Hobbies, it worked well, just couldnt out accelerate losi trucks in bumpy sections.

Indoors it worked great. I'm sure with some added tuning time I could get it to work at the outdoor tracks, it's just disappointing when someone shows up with an "out of the box" losi ,slaps it on the track and it works.

I race an indoor track as well. I have tried the losi and tekno and agree they both feel sluggish to me too. I drive my sc104x4 like its a 2w

Already been there & raced the truck
with extra ballast , 16mm spring ect ...

Let me share

1st
was
adding extra ballast.`
It does make the truck feel better with extra grip & stability...

But all the extra weight stole corner speed ..
Jumps & landings became more even difficult.

2nd
This is why you see the larger springs being used , it helps .....

After your done trying to fix
all the problems from adding 4 to 6oz extra weight ?

The truck is not still as good as just using no ballast at all.

my personal experience here

Instead of spending mass dollars & time ?

1ST

suggest you

Just try the set-up posted by John Walentia on www.rc10.com

*Tip with the set-up suggested.....

If traction is more ? like med to med high

add ballast on the nose to control or smooth out the steering . .

Start with 10 gram on each side by servo ...

med high grip = 1/2oz on each side of servo

med high to high = 1 1/2 oz

med to less traction ?(slippery)

no weight on the nose

I tried Johns Setup. It was crap. Just like all of the rest of the setups. You wanna drive the sc10 4x4 fast, be a much better driver than anyone else. And Johns setup is for indoor, tight, high bite. That is not outdoor loose, I do donuts whenever I touch the trigger.

Think all of those drive similar as well .
Sc10 is way more maneuverable & agile on the track ...

I agree. The sc10 4x4 is super agile. It can swap ends like no other.

On med to med high traction 8mm camber mod truck free's up rear traction & controls roll ....

don't really need for outdoor, although if you do use suggest lower the inside camber stud to 5mm or less...
