Ummm, buy them both and try them out. Its not like pistons are that expensive. 4wd SCT is not a budget class, afterall.

I haven't had the truck long but there was a huge difference between the stock shock set up and the Fioroni piston set up and that's all I changed. The truck landed a 15' crossover jump like it landed on a cloud I mean you couldn't hardly hear it hit and it was planted much better in turns. I'm deffinetly a novice driver and it made me look pretty good. But then again the truck bone stock made me look good LOL

Tell me about it at 50 bucks for a set of shock pistons, but I suspect that they will be the last set of pistons I buy for this truck. From here on it's just adjusting oil weight!

Got to race last night. Got to put only about 4 charges through it. Wish i could give rave reviews like everyone else lol. But i struggled all night and need to learn how to drive a 4wd drive truck. Ive been driving 2wd for a long time. I can say the truck is retarded durable, i crashed hard more laps than i ran clean. Had bad issues with the back popping over the front and nose diving. I could cruise to the jumps and float good but other are able to hit them pretty hard. I ended up going to HB grey rear and yellow front. And that upper hole in the rear arm and it got better. But i still need some track time to learn it.

I'm looking to lower my ride height by using shorter springs. Anyone know of any that might be 1-2 cm shorter then the Tekno ones?

FYI for those asking about the weights of the stock vs aluminum sway bar ball ends.

Stock, all four, no setscrews: 7.1 g
Aluminum, all four, no setscrews: 2.5 g

I feel the same way! I finally was able to put a few more packs through my truck and I know its a great ride, but the driver stunk it up. The more track time I've been able to get, I've been able to improve but even with my limited skills I'm within 2 seconds of the fast guys!!!

I have noticed that I have to carry quite a bit more throttle in the air to keep it level than my Durango DESC410 and my Ofna TS-4 I'm thinking about putting a little weight in the rear maybe 1/4 oz. to start.

To compare pistons, you have to know the area of the holes. Use this formula
R(squared)x3.14xH=A
Where R is the radius of the piston hole (1/2 the hole size) and
H is the number of holes.
If two pistons have the same area, the one with more, smaller holes will have more pack.
Like this 1.3mm÷2=.65mm=R
.65mm (squared)x3.14x10=13.2665 square mm. 10x1.3 pistons.
.7(squared)mmx3.14x 8= 12.3088 square mm. 8x1.4 pistons.
The pistons have an area of 200.96 square mm

Alan, its the same with me. The biggest thing to 4wd is remembering you can PULL your way out of alot of stuff that you would let off the gas for with a 2wd. And using you motor to change the attitude of the truck in mid air is another. Try not to let off the gas altogether over a jump. By that I mean dont let off to neutral.Dont stay in the gas either. Let off the throttle, but not to neutral. It will help maintain the proper attitude in the air, that and possibly going to 30 weight or so in the rear shocks. The stock oil equates to about 27.5 weight and it causes chassis slap on many tracks. That will give you that nose over feeling too. Also, that 4kv motor is more power on instantaneous tap is easy to over shoot stuff too,lol
I'm still trying to get a handle on it also, and I havent been able to get to the track for like 2 weeks, it killin me smalls! Takes time, battery packs and really concentrating on all the stuff this thing can do. Vegatron made a comment on seeing all the abuse these things can take and still come back smiling. It may have been me,LMAO I also have a tendancy to let anybody and their brother drive it to get a idea of what this Tekno thing is all about. They all leave smilin!
