So, what is different on the RS that makes the crush tubes not work? I have a RS but would like to make it an FT.

What would I need to replace to make the RS RTR a FT?

As far as the rear hubs go - ASC9864 0' Degree Aluminum Hub Set
ASC7933 Crush Tubes
ASC7935 Outer Bearings
You use your stock inner bearings. These are Team Associated Parts. There are plenty of other options for hubs and bearing brands

Default Motor esc

Hello,
My father in law has an extra buggy sitting around and in have a ballistic 550 6.5t and havoc pro, originally in a scte. Does anyone know if this would work in the b4.1? Is it runable? Or way over powered. Trying not to spend money to get another buggy running. If not can anyone recommend a good motor esc that is race worthy but cheap? Not sure if I want to get into the b4.1 yet. Thanks.

William

I don't get it, is the stock crush tube different sizes from the ASC7933 crush tube?

If your asking about everything needed to switch over, in all honesty, Im sure it would be cheaper to get a new B4.1 Worlds Car. Especially with the price coming down since the release of the B4.2

As far as I know the part number you have is ASC7377. I've never had that part number, but I believe it's longer. So yes, they are different sizes

It would be easier for all if you you were to just download the manual with all the part numbers.

I'm not sure you could realistically get that bad boy tuned down far enough. Buggies are fast and nimble but pretty challenging to drive. Adding a lot of extra power might make it seem like it isn't that fun. Lots of folks are going after the brushless hobbies stuff and the hobbywing combos are always dirt cheap and decent. I've been running Viper for a while now and they aren't exactly what I would call cheap but I love them.

I read a few pages back people talking about overall weight of the buggy. Is there a ROAR rule about weight or is therre just a good weight for performance?

The Roar minimum weight is 1499 grams. My who ride (with a shorty pack) weighs 1520 locked and loaded, with golds all the way around. I run the ballast weight and 6 quarter ounce chassis weights as well.

The ESC will work fine, but the motor, not so much. Besides being way to powerful & fast for 2wd, the longer can will throw off the side to side balance by a large margin. I don't know that actual corner weighing it is necessary for off road, but that much difference should be rather noticeable. If you don't plan to use it in a sc truck you can probably trade it for or sell it for enough to buy a used 540 can motor here on rctech. An 8.5t or 10.5t (depending on experience with 2wd & skill) would be a much better choice.

my buggy falls in at 1530ish grams fully loaded with a shorty. No extra weight added could probably loose a little by taking the fan off my esc but thats about all i could take off the car :-P
