I haven't ran my Tekno much yet but my Durango is usually 2 sets of fronts to 1 set of rears, and same with my Ofna TS-4

I received my 17mm adapters from Tekno earlier this week and finally had a chance to try them out today. About five mins into the first pack I came off a small jump and the right rear wheel came off. The nut was still on the insert had broken. It was kind of odd I sure hope this was a freak thing not needing to be made out of aluminum to be strong enough. That would shoot the price up quite a bit. Tekno I sent you an email. I put one off of the front wheel in the pic for comparison.

When you post a question like that on this forum I don't believe you're going to get an unbiased opinion but here's my best shot at an answer.

I just bought my 410 last week, it won't even arrive until Tuesday,after doing a lot of comparison shopping. Only two other trucks are in the running The Durango and the SCTE 2.0.

The Durango is a fast, great handeling truck but unfortunately it has a reputation for being rather fragile. That's a deal breaker for me. I don't mind spending money to buy a good truck and to get it set up for racing, but I don't want to have to spend big bucks to keep a ton of spares on hand so I can repair it. I hate to DNF a race then have to spend my time between races wrenching like crazy to get the truck repaired for the the next heat. Good truck, but not for me.

The SCTE 2.0 isn't a new truck. Basically it's the same truck with all the features of a $700 hopped up race truck. Smart move on Losi's part. Why try to reinvent the wheel when after market companies and the racers have already shown you what needs to be done to make a ARR truck into a full blown race version. From the videos I've watched it appears that Losi has done a nice job on the version 2.0, but I don't see anything that will make it significantly better than the hopped up versions of the 1.0.

Now the Techno is an all new truck and from all reports Techno has hit a bullseye with their first shot!! The truck is rugged as you might expect since 80% of it's parts come from a 1/8 scale buggy. It handels great. It's light. Techno's support is great. Most importantly it's ready to race right out of the box with the only add on really needed being aluminum hexs availble for less than $20. There are options available, but they aren't required to take it out of the box and win races with it. I'm not sure what more you could expect from a truck kit. I know it hits all my hot buttons and that's why I have one on it's way to me right now.

Wanted to mention that last weekend at the Cabin Fever race qualified 5th and took 5th overall with the sct410 truck worked awesome and it was a awesome huge arena cross style track I was the only Tekno there.

I recently had my computer crash and I lost a lot of info. Can any body give a link to a site that sells quality esc fan replacments? Most of the time I use Castle esc's, good esc but crappy fan motors.

I got to race on a large 1/8th track at Motorama this weekend. I beat the crap out of it and it handled everything like a champ! started in the C main and bumped into the B main. Now if only the driver could keep up with the truck.

That's a bummer. I was thinking of picking up these adapters to run the DE 17mm wheels but that kinda has me worried. I guess if enough of them fail then Tekno might make some aluminum ones.

How was Motorama this year? I was hoping to be able to make it but I couldn't. They have a good turnout again this year?

I'm hoping it's a freak thing but imo after close inspection I really think the part is too thin. But I didn't design it so I don't know for sure. I hope it was a freak thing, $9.99 is a great price for 17mm adapters. The aluminum ones on the market that are held on with a nut are a big pain and are spendy. I really like the Tekno adapters, basic simple and cheap now it's just a matter of finding out why they broke so easy. I did try to put a metal washer under the wheel nut but that didn't work very good. You could only get about half of the threads on the nut. I'm confindent that Tekno will figure out the problem, I sure like the idea of using my 1/8 buggy wheels for practice, got a ton of them. Maybe not a ton but 50+ sets. Yea I know I'm a rc junkie!!! Hehehehehe

It was great. XRC built the track and took care of it through out the weekend. the turnout was great.
Scotty kept everything moving. I would say it was the best rama yet and I only missed 1. From what the XRC guys said they will be building the track for next years rama also. good times were had!

I'm like you Jones as I have a ton of buggy tires as well I could be using for practice.

That's cool that Motorama was a hit again this year. I will definitely have to make it next year.

Mr Tekno, Your website seems to not be working. I tried to place an order for parts for this truck and it is not working. It keeps saying something about invalid credit card numbers,but there is no where to put a cc number when I order. It is really frustrating.

My wife thinks I have more buggy and truggy tires than any body on the planet. Close but not true. Today I was running a 1/8 set of Pro-line Caliburs m3 compound, they were hooked up so good. I was racing - practicing against a couple of 1/8 Losi buggies plus a Losi e-truggy and having a great time. Normaly a sc truck wouldn't stay close to this gang of bandits. These guys are fast, they were amazed that the 410 could hang with them. This is my first season in 1/10 racing and I'm super happy with it. I've been into 1/8 but in my area you have to drive a long ways to race. So it's real nice to race closer to home.

I picked up one of the 4000kv 3656 Hobby Wing motors. What would be a good baseline gear for a tight track with the longest straight being 75'? 16t ?
