RC10B4.1 FT/WC
Hi guy
I have installed a Savox servo in my b4.1 RTR and see a great improvement in steering, also using futaba 4pl transmiter. But in order to compete the motor and esc are still weak, can't over the doubles on the track...
Any recommendation for good motor (7.5) and esc for this car? (not too expansive)
Thanks

Do you know if they changed there warranty policies for DOA ESCs Acill? I was looking at one of those, but hearing how there is no warranty at all, I figured might as well stick with what I have from SP or just order the HK look alike for $35ish if I recall correctly. Trakstar has a look alike too with solder posts for $40. If its as good as their motors are from what I hear in 1/8, could be a budget beater.

7.5t would be A LOT of motor for a buggy and if your new maybe too much. With 8.5t I can clear the huge tabletop double at the wcrc 2013 reedy layout I don't know what size doubles your trying to clear but a good 17.5t geared right is usually only 1-2seconds behind mod guys in the indoor tracks. If you insist on mod try 8.5-9.5t
I have always used Novak motors but am loving the lrp x12 octa 8.5 I recently picked up after trying my buddies. Ditched my 17.5 real quick lol. Very smooth and plenty of punch. The x20 I hear is even quicker but I haven't used one.

For $36, the HK one looks like a good one to try.
For $36, it seems like a cheap risk!

Only downside is that neither are legal for big races but for someone like me who generally is only looking to race at my club it's perfect and can't be beaten for price. Around $80 posted to your door depending where you are realistically is cheap as it will get. And everyone I know running the Trakstar motors have nothing but good things to say about them.

+1 for Speed Passion. From a budget stand point the Reventon R is hard to beat. Plus you get a warranty and customer service that actually exist. Having driven LRP, Tekin and Brushless Hobbies, I will take Speed Passion any day.
Yeah I have that one and two others! As for warranty I have no idea. For the price of them you may as well just order another one if it fails, but I havent had any issues with mine. HK doesnt do any warranty as far as I know. Every time I got something bad from them they just give credit or offer to sell me something cheaper.
Well i guess i can now post my ride in this part of the forum since my buggy is now basically a b4.1 with a +8 chassis. I bought a used buggy off here and tore it apart to look it over and found this and that wrong or broken or bent. So i ended up rebuilding the whole buggy. This will be my second attempt at a buggy. (I tried a 22 once sold it in a month) Now i've basically got a brand new buggy for the cost of more than a new kit would have cost
but either way i know the car inside and out and hopefully its more suited to my driving style. Ive only got a couple of pics so far as ive rebuilt the car just waiting on a few small things here and there and it will be done!
So heres what i ended up with when i tore it down everything on the right was useless. everything on the right was usable.

Here it is rebuilt with new parts a servo and some new dyed wheels.

Ive got some elec. installed in it now but haven't grabbed a pic yet and i'm working on my paint for the body. Hoping to have it up soon so i can get some track time on it
