For the guy asking about runtime on the tekin's, in general I coudl always get at least 13 minutes no matter conditions on a 5000mah battery with the 2050kv or simila rmotor (2200kv, etc). This ranged from winter cold to summer heat, hard driving with lots of wheel slippage.
Please note... I said usually. Price is not always an indicator of quality, but for the most part, it is.

I gotta know. Where can you get an RX8 for $100.00? The cheapest I've found is $179.95!!!

He may have meant $100 to have it replaced/repaired if it's out of warranty.

The RX8 is also made in the USA (from domestic and foreign parts).

Anybody gonna run the viper vtx8 esc? Looks pretty nice and has everything i'm looking for. Not knocking tekin, but i've heard more than a fair share of rx-8's failing from people on here. Weird though as 90% of the people at my track run tekin no problems.

I've always wanted to get an RX8 but the same failure reports have steered me away. My Flux q-bases have treated me well so far and the price just cant be beat

Not to go off topic or anything but, the rx8 had problems early on like the mamba monster. The new tekins are very good, I have been running mine for 3 months now not a single problem. I came form castle creation products, and I think the rx8 is the smoothest 1/8th esc out there and has great support and customer service. I will be running tekin from here on out.

I will also run an rx8 in my Tekno SCT410 when it comes out.

3 months is nothing, wait a few months more The RX8 even in its last version isn't the most reliable esc out there, and I'm saying this while owning it and loving all its features and tekin's support. I bought many of them.

If your RX8 fails you can always replace it for less than 100$ by contacting tekin. The brand is great when it comes down to customer service.

Best speedo for its features, just not strong enough. I compared it to many other ESC in various conditions

BTW if you think your RX8 is smooth, try a 120A Hobbywing or a MMP (with a BEC). They're smoother..and cheaper too

From what I experienced since we are talking about ESCs lol, the Speed Passion Silver Arrow V2 was smoother than the RX8 I had. Power was similar, but the SAV2 is a big girl.

The Viper ESC I am interested in, just wish tower carried this brand. I also like the fact that in comparison to other companies, they feel there ESC is worth standing behind with a 1 year warranty like Castle does. I wish SP would do that, but, since their SAV2 is like $70 new with 90 days warranty, was willing to go with it. $200, then I would have to think hard lol.

I had 4 RX8's over the past 3 years and all have worked great.

The new Viper 1/8th scale looks good, it even has an adjustable voltage BEC

probably the only thing I thought odd about the new viper but maybe other ESCs are like this, it will only work with Sensored motors. you can't hook up a sensorless motor to it. That is what viper support told me when I asked.
