Has anyone had any problems with driveshafts. Ive broke three so far. First one was my fault (dropped it on a concrete floor). They all have broke a little under the ball end that would go into the rear diff outdrives. I know you want them hard, but they almost seem a little hard where they are brittle. The out drives do have some wear to them. I would have thought that the drive pin would have taken a beating and snapped long before i sheared off the ball end...Anyone else having this problem?

I will not buy a EB48 as I never buy new. Plain simple. But we have plenty of EB48 around here, probably more than anywhere else. To give you an idea there are already as many EB48 on local tracks as Mugen Eco which is by far the most sold buggy. The only national championship is electric in Belgium, there is no nitro anymore so I had all the occasions to see what the EB48 is like and hear about the feedbacks of many local drivers. I participated in the very first endurance the EB48 did so I have a little idea of the reliability of the buggy (the race was 10 hours). S.Wartelle is selling an upgraded EB48 because it had reliability issues, (http://www.wartelle-shop.com/boutiqu...lg=lg_fr&num=8) so I'm not arguing in the air. And BTW it's just my opinion. Great design but many little weaknesses, which is perfectly normal for a brand new buggy. But don't make the EB48 better than it already is, it doesn't need it really.

It hits really hard on the bottom and I have initial throttle at 0%, I drive nitro truggy most of the time and the transition to e buggy is difficult. If you drive it exclusively you could get used to it really quickly but going from something that has a clutch with very stiff springs to something that has instant power requires some practice. Overall I like Novak because Ive never had a problem with a motor or ESC from them. The only issue with the Activ8 system is they are a little chunkier than everyone else. Im probably gonna try an Orion or LRP next.

pistons amortisseurs news (shock pistons)
but that's not including the ackerman plate, and other few things
As I mentioned the EB48 is a great car but it doesn't need to be overestimated either.

) ....... But it isnt hype , this buggy IS a great car as you said .....Enough of this my dog is bigger than your dog stuff . All I am saying is the EB48 is just as well made and uses just as good of materials as any of the high end racing buggies being sold today . Design wise we already know its a class leader .

Quality of the parts is highly variable from a brand to another so this makes no sense. Even between let's say a Mugen and a RC8.2 which are both considered high end. No way Tekno parts are as good as Xray/Serpent/ Mugen/ Sworks IMO. Your opinion is different, I'm ok with that

And what quantifiable difference in quality do you speak of ? Is the Mugen , XRay , Serpent etc. made out of some rare exotic materials that are exclusive to them ? One might be better equipped than the other but they are made of the same stuff ?
But you are right this is all just our opinion and we are both entitled to it .....

I have owned Xray/serpent/mugen and Tekno. The quality of the parts on all of these brands was very much comparable.
I was the least pleased with some of the part quality on my Serpent. The hardware was not very good and the chassis wasn't the best material or hard anodized like the others.

If you want a smooth power delivery go for a 120a sct xerun esc or a MMP. The RX8 is not what I call smooth, neither are most of the 1/8 ESC anyway.
MMP + 1400kv motor + 5S lipos and now you have a smooth motor response with more speed and torque than needed. Slow is fast, check the laptimes

Next Race Dalton RC, Georgia Turkey Blast...I forgot to look at your location you could be in Indonesia for all I know, lol

Ive had both the eco and associated 8e to compare with the eb48 and i just
got to shake down my eb48 for the 1st time yesterday on a large indoor clay track with a 4600 sc motor on 2s.
In summary, this car was on rails, and the narrow chassis really helps it to work well on smaller tracks. handling was super sharp and very predictable. I didn't notice any lack of rear grip but it did have plenty of steering.
Shocks built smooth and kit quality is very good, but the plastic is softer then mugen and closer to associated in flex/material.
With the light electronics setup, the shock setup seemed just right so it will be interesting to see how it fairs this summer outdoors on rutted, loose tracks with full weight.
i did notice this car is much heavier then my eco w/o electronics and i can only attribute it to the chassis and number of screws needed to hold down the electronics plates. I think some lightened screws may be in the next order. The plus side is the electronics install super clean and the chassis is a work of art with all the millings.
Overall, i'm very impressed with the kit. The only build trouble was that i left out the shims in the diffs and they kept binding up and i even cracked a diff gear trying to break them in this way. Once the shims were installed, the diffs seem quite normal and smooth.
the drivetrain is super loud for some reason; im thinking the material of the middle diff gear is very hard and thus noisy.
Oh, and the body cab is not centered perfectly on the body. Meh. the body does fit the mudgaurds super tight so body rattling is not an issue. Nice.
Cant wait for the first race!

Hey Pulse, LET'S RACE! My Tekno EB48 with RX8 2050 Combo against your Muge/Serpent Hobbywing combo. Never really raced Ebuggy until I bought the Tekno, and I podium the car almost every race... Let's Do This.

The RX8 in my JQ is the 5th I own so don't worry, I still prefer the MMP because it's smoother. I tried various setups in 2200/4s, 2050/4s, 1645/4s, 1400/5s, 1350/6S, 1400/6s, 4000/2s on a converted MBXR, 808E, JQ and Durango with HW, Leopard, Castle and Tekin electronics so if I run a 1400kv 5S setup there might be a reason
. Try a 6S 1400kv setup with a MMP and compare it to your actual 4S setup, you'll see. Teknorc did it on the EB48 with succes the only thing is that 6S is not allowed by ROAR but here it's no problem. BTW I'm in Belgium

During the testing phase I was running a 6s/2500 with a Tekin 1400kv motor. Still my favorite setup. Great speed, great punch, great run time, cool motor. I've since been running smaller 4s hardcase packs with a 2050kv motor. Not quite as good, but a little more convenient if anything goes wrong and I need a part (motor or battery).

Here is an interesting overview vid of the EB48
