I rough up the bead with a scotch brite pad and then use windex to clean the whole tire and rinse with cold water. Then I clean the bead with denatured alcohol. I also do the same with the wheel.
At the track I use motor spray to clean everything and glue. Same results and quicker. But at home I take the time to pre-prep and prevent any risk of the tire from coming unglued.

I have a set of front and rear (used) proline Hexes (these show signs of use, but still work fine) and 3 sets of proline rims (2 front 1 rear) and one set of use proline closed cell foam. Looking to get 25.00 shipped if interested. PM me

ok, I ran my shorty tonight. I ended up with thick pad in the rear and the rest up front. The car definitely felt lighter and more nimble. I didnt go any faster at all, surprise lol. But the 65c could be felt for sure. And the 4k mah gave me plenty of power for an 8 minute main. In the 6min quals I only used up 800mah. The real upside was a lot less chassis slapping. It still slapped, just not nearly as loud.
I did the same last night with black rear and green front AE springs, short battery 1 pad back from front. It was much more nimble and my average fast laps were .3 faster than with a full size pack. I immediately noticed the difference and will stick with shorty packs for a while. Plenty of MAH also, I run 17.5 blinky so when the pack starts to slow down the motor needs time to cool anyway. I do need more steering especially on power entering and exiting the corner(mostly on exit WOT). Might try going to different front springs next outing, both softer and harder to see what i like.

Just ordered a part car. It's a rtr, but has extended chassis and upgrades. I have stock FT, so planning on moving everything to extended chassis, but run the gear diff from the rtr. What duff fluid is recommended for indoor clay with decent traction?
I like carbide diff balls with ceramic thrust balls. Sand the main rings with 400 grit emory paper. Follow proper break-in and your golden.
