Tuned on the c5tgc fine actually. OS P4 plug installed and it felt even better. Needs a little fine tuning but for the most part, its tuned well and you can see that switching plugs dont hurt the the engine.
(needs a little fine tuning because I didn't want to take too much time shooting the video because my battery was dying)

I would like to make 1 thing clear here folks.... On the glow plug issue/debate... I have swapped back and forth before and never had problems... I never of the taper difference...
So I'm on the fence... It makes sense what people say... But it never happened to me.. But it happened to well respected people on these forums as in perotto.... Wo am I to say he's full of it...
Secondly in regards to personal vendetta i would like to point out that Mr Maximo who always paints himself as a victim... But if you look at another thread you will see he clearly attacks fusion engines.. Practically saying they are inferior engines... This is after some stated that hey are interested in one of these engines... This shows his class and integrity...
While he may say its a personal vendetta... I will not sit back and watch someone attack a friend of mine and be-little all his hard work... Ys if you want to call it personal by all means go ahead... But keep in mind this is only a single digit percentage of the crap that is going on.... What he has done and what's have said... I'm no angel in the matter I can guarantee that... But I will not sit back and watch him attack my friend who has done so much to build a good reputation...
If spelling and gramma is bad... I'm on an iPhone... That's my story... Lol... Peace out.. My last say on this topic... Happy rc'ing
I will post what he said..

Put a OS plug into a Nova........ works like a charm and makes engine tune much like a OS !!
Less money then a Bonito, but less performance then a Bonito too...so its all in perspective....
Novarossi have ceramic bearings and turbo heads too.......lol...except a 4 port not a 3 port....4 port is better than 3 port..which is why Nova dropped 3 port in favor of 4 port in their regular lineup........

I might want to run a NR in the future. For now I'll stick with OS until I feel that I want to challenge myself again with an engine that's a pain to tune, uses crappy glow plugs, and takes forever to break in wasteing too much fuel.
Fusion Engines are NR based but come with better details. (3 port with a turbo head, ceramic bearings, etc.etc.) They also have a 7 port Bonito like engine that deosn't quite have the Bonito price tag.

it seems to me in your eyes it is OK for people to compare against the Bonito and Plus4 , but its not OK for others to compare against the Fusion in the exact same manner..........
sorry but do I favor the Nova's, but I have actual technical reasons why... The Bonito's long stroke gives more low end grunt then the X7 shorter stroke and the 4 port sleeve has better support for the piston sides then a 3 port sleeve does.... I am not really a fan of 3 ports in general. with big wide ports it can create excessive wear on the piston...The 4 port design is a great alternative that offers the benefits of a 3 port, but with more support for the piston.... it has nothing to do with being a Fusion, just my personal preference to engine port layout....
Now for those who say the Bonito has no power, you need to look at what pipe/header you were recommended to run..With the long stroke Bonito it reacts very poorly to long manifolds, kills the bottom end, and will lose a large amount of power ...I was originally recommended the 41005/41021, 2084/9853, combo's and it was terrible.....the engine had no power and no snap.....However put a Bonito on a 9886/41001/41019 and watch the fireworks... night and day improvement over the most commonly recommended setups... Anyone who thinks a Bonito doesn't get on pipe needs to try some different pipe/header combos.... as the general recommendations that have been made by the respected experts have done nothing but hinder engines output.........Everyone was looking for more bottom by adding a long manifold, but in reality they were killing off the bottom..... The Bonito has it in it to run very strong, you just need to run the right setup is all.....what is normally recommended really neuters the engines output ...
Anyways I like the long stroke Bonito because of the torque it can make, and I like the 4 port because it supports the piston better than a 3 port, which I believe results in reduced piston wear, especially at high RPM.....I figure if others are entitled to an opinion, I am also entitled to one too....
I have to also say that IMO the Bonito is one of the best .21's ever made...the amount of grunt we get these engines is unrivaled by anything short of a .25........ I do feel that many people have never seen what one of these engines can do simply because they have been recommended to run setups that really do tame the engine down... Anyone who has a Bonito needs to shorted up the manifold to see what it can really do...even a 9901/41019 combo barks very well, much stronger then the 41021/9901 combo...night and day and about 4 MPH on radar on the track

I appreciate your efforts with the video but i was hoping to see you run both on the track, HARD, for AT LEAST one tank each plug after dialing in tune. I know that would b a pain but this video is inconclusive. The engine needs to be treated as if it is in a race as it should always be treated when testing.
I was trying to show that there are no issues with switching plugs back and forth, and that I can tune both plugs fine.
I also wanted to show how to tune an engine but the first clip of the video had a major sound out of sync problem, when I was tuning the C5TGC, so I couldn't show that part. That would have been where I showed how to tune it and how I tune it.
So i think it is partly conclusive in that it shows the plugs can be interchanged with no problems.

Thats a great idea.
I understand that, there really is no need to change if it works fine. But I was having problems, switching to a P4 helped eliminate the problem. I'll try to get it tuned on the nova plug as well as the P4 plug in my video and show that they are easily interchangeable, with no problems. I'll mess up the needles a little so I can show every body the engine being tuned with both plugs on the video.
I noticed a performance increase with the P4 plug so Im sold on it.

I think you are having issues and forced to play with plugs because:
1. Your engine is modified.
2. You keep dicking with the needles on the box with a cold engine.
3. You keep dicking with the needles trying to find the sweet spot (I've seen guys take a whole summer trying and never did find it with your particular mod)
4. You keep dicking with the needles because it keeps flaming out. (a conclusive condition of your particular mod)
5. The front bearing is pooched.
6. The rod is getting ready to exit the block.

Stop the presses! Did the rules of capitalism change last night and nobody told me?!? You aren't allowed to say that the product you sell is better than your competitors product any more?????

That's not a vendetta. It's called running a business. You try to convince people to buy your stuff instead of the other guys and sometimes the other guy doesn't like it! You don't agree with what they say, call them on it, nothing wrong with asking somebody to back up their claims.
The way people were talking I thought he was beating somebodies dog or something.

I think you are having issues and forced to play with plugs because:
1. Your engine is modified. Modding makes it better
2. You keep dicking with the needles on the box with a cold engine. Um the engine was just running before the video started so it was at operating temp
3. You keep dicking with the needles trying to find the sweet spot (I've seen guys take a whole summer trying and never did find it with your particular mod) I found a sweet spot though? I'm capable of tuning an engine, the engine is perfect now.
4. You keep dicking with the needles because it keeps flaming out. (a conclusive condition of your particular mod) Ok, now I know you're just trying to bash clocked engines, um, It was flaming out because it was idling too low, I reset the needles just for the purpose of this video, I got it about spot on anyway
5. The front bearing is pooched. Front bearing is brand new and doesn't flame out when I spray nitro spray in it, they vacuum return port is also blocked.
6. The rod is getting ready to exit the block. The rod is 1 and 1/2 gallons old, so no.

Don't try and bash Clocked engines because I can see its what you're trying to do, they are the best engines I've ever seen running and the fastest. Neal does excellent work with these engines, they are top notch. They are NOT hard to tune.
EDIT, seems you watched my old video, see my newer one.

Hahahaha that's all?

Sure, I don't doubt that it does, but for the people reading this thread all they can see is you quoting somebody saying "4 port motors are better than 3 port motors" and then people losing their mind over it.
If there's a personal issue it should be handled in private. Airing it out in public just makes you all look bad.
