RC10B4.1 FT/WC
You are correct; That is my old color scheme!
That is my car!

I still race it. Retired from "pro racing" with AE/Reedy for just over 14 yrs, then got back into it about 2 yrs ago.
I never thought I would come back full circle to be honest, to racing RC cars again. Not after doing it since the early 80's.
I still race that buggy nowdays in original form, but as you can see I have put newer electronics to accomodate the brushless motors. A lot less work than when we either had Reedy cut our comms or we did it ourselves for club racing.

My guess is either CAV or mayfield wins worlds & it's at least 30 months till a b5, or tebo or lutz wins worlds & we see a b5 shortly after. If CAV or mayfield wins I expect to see a b4 evo/championship/CAV/mayfield/b4.2 edition shortly after. In the b4 evo scenario I see a longer, narrow plastic chassis (see Ty tessman), bb shocks w/ towers that don't have to be trimmed, a vts style slipper, slightly altered suspension geometry (ubrace that comes shaved & c hubs, maybe with some changes in front as well), hexes all around, & a new body. Basically taking all the common &/or factory mods that are done & putting them in kit form, exactly like the b4.1, ft, we, 8.2, tc6.1, etc. Really, with the domination they showed @ the super nats, do you see anyone beating them @worlds? If the b4.1 we dominates both nats & worlds why on earth would AE release a b5?

2 differences in the slipper. 1st thinner, drilled (lighter, cooler) plates. 2nd, thicker, shorter spring. Not sure the plates make that big of a difference, but if you don't get a triad/vts, you MUST get the spring. It is so much easier to tune.
The difference in transmission case is the metric out drives. Metric out drives require metric bearings which only fit in a metric case. Again, I'm not sure how big of a difference there is between the metric out drives & the light weight sae out drives, but it is different.

If you don't mind me asking, what purpose is there for AE to go to metric outdrives?
Ruffy and Jeff have two amazing RC 10's.
They are both working on getting a vinatage class going at our local track.
I personally can't wait to see a full heat of mod vintage 2wd buggy how cool is that.
