I have 8 gallons on my B6 Pro. The only thing that needed to be replaced was the front bearing at around 2 gallons. She's still running strong with good compression.

Just sizing up some options on which engine to run next year in my buggy.

An engine a year will suit me fine.

Well if the idle is going up and up it's either too much air or not enough fuel. Or both.

Are you saying it was sucking air and fuel? So there are large bubbles in the fuel line? If so then yes, just like when it is running out of fuel the idle goes up before it dies because it is not getting enough fuel to maintain the idle. There can be other causes but it sounds like you should look at your fuel and pressure line first if everything was fine before today IMO.

I doubt it, if everything was fine the last 3 tanks that you ran, how did it get an air leak all of a sudden? Much more likely that the weather conditions changed and the tune is simply too lean now. If you can get some help with the tuning part at your local shop, it will probably help to have them show you how to tune the engine etc.

sitting for any length of time won't do anything to the tune unless it was hot/ humid and rusted up.

Check your throttle linkage and make sure nothing is binding and holding the carb slide open. Make sure you haven't changed any transmitter settings which would hold the carb open more than idle. Make sure your throttle return spring (or what ever you're using) is functional.

If the carb slide is fully returning to the recommended idle gap, richen the LSN 1/4 turn. Heck, richen it 1/2 turn. It probably won't be tuned, but if your idle problem goes away, your home.

You'll feel better if YOU find the problem rather than your shop.
