Default Ball diff or gear diff. Which do I have?

I have an AE B4.1 WC 2wd buggy. Stock. How do I know if I have a ball diff or a gear diff w/out taking it apart? Which would I want?

Same for an SC10RS RTR?

If I want to swamp from one type diff to the other, would I need a new tranny case and all, or are the diffs about to go into either tranny?

Probably a ball diff since that is what they come with but you can check in the outdrives of the diff and see if there is a screw in one side and a nut in the other. If this is the case then you have a ball diff. IF you don't see them then you have a gear diff. The RTR SC10 RS comes with a gear diff.

Also I have a T4 I would like to trade for a B4 or SC10

It needs a body but other than that its complete and we only want to get rid if it because its the only one we have and would rather stick to buggys/SC for the kids. Also the shocks are not AE they are I think from a rampage???

Anyone interested please PM me for pics and what you have.

You can run anything as long as you can control it.

17.5 or 13.5 might be good if you are still learning to control, but some people run as low as 7.5 but only use like 50% throttle on small tracks.

The concrete wall is fine IMO...just don't hit it...but the pole in the middle of the track is crazy. They couldn't come up with a layout that didn't stick those poles in the track?

Very nice driving BTW.

They usually dont have it in the track, usually on the edge or in an island. They built it that way this time to up the technicality of the layout.

So these would be the only two sizes of ball studs I would need to switch over to the Ti-Nitride Ball Studs?

We don't need air conditioning though , usually nice & cool ...

grass hopper

We made the layout so that column scares you keeping you honest , but most never hit it....

The layout is one that decides who can drive faster ....

Its fun as all get out , big air , sharp turns & the motor counts ....
