I have the boots, rubber bump stops and 3mm of clips.
When I press hard on the suspension arm the driveshaft almost but doesn't quite press on the outdrive. There are no scoring marks on any of my driveshafts from catching on the outdrives.
If you don't use boots add more clips.
The 4x4 I bought 2nd hand had no clips and the out drives are so wobbly I think it would need new gearbox case halfs if I were to rebuild it, not just diff cases.

WC - Many thanks for the quick reply... I'll take your (and twisted's) word for it and give it a shot then...

Beachbuggyphil - Interesting... I guess I got some more testing to do... Thanks for the input!

4 to 5 mm of clips under the rubber bumper at the bottom of the shock shaft. Should be 8mm total including the rubber bumper.
It may vary if you mount the shock inside or outside on the arm, not sure just check for no contact between the cvd and outdrive. Add or remove clips as needed front and rear.

Grey clips that came in the shock bag when new in the box. If you didn't get them with your truck, get em... you probably have them, but wanted to point out the obvious.so nothing was missed in interpretation.

entire front end?

Is it just me or does your brace look to have a slight "bow" in the middle?

Moderator should change your name to destroyer or something awesome like that

Is there a cliff right next to the track that you drive at?

I know that was a joke but there actually is. If you don't hit a jump perfect you will go off the side of the track into a 15ft drop, loose a lap (about 30sec) in the time it takes the marshall to get the car.
