What about dusty though? It seemed to help my car on the dusty track. Our track is kinda bumpy also but not terrible. My problem was the dusty surface. The car was hard to drive hard without the rear washing out. You think i went the wrong way with setup? If so, i posted my setup on the page prior. Let me know what you feel could change. My car feels great but i am always up to try something different. Diff oil changes would suck but i am willing. Takes so long.

Dusty I run 5-5-2 OR 5-4-2 Pending on conditions 7 doesnt work for me using thicker oil in the centre diff makes the car accelerate a lot faster, but it can be harder to drive in bumps and on slippery tracks.

My track is low traction, bumpy and dusty when it is dry. I am using a 5-5-2 setup with 1.8 rear sway bar and grey rear spring. I dont know how bumpy your track is, but inserts 2 in rear front brace down will give some more kick up and help your car a lot in bumpy sections. I have tested the blue front springs, but i am using green front spring and thats works good for me, i think the blue springs are to soft or mabye i just should have tried a little thickere oil. You can give your rear end max toe in with inserts 4 out in RR brace, that helped the rear of my car really much. I am using 8 hole conical pistons 35F and 27.5R. One thing i need to test more is shocks/shock pistons.

Hmm, I wonder if my car felt better because the track has alot of short shoots leading to the jumps. Not a fast flowing track. More point and shoot and i felt i had to run outside to get the drive to make the jumps. It was very inconsistant. We race at night but the 1st heat is around 6:00 and its dry and dusty. After that, the bite is ok. Im going to run it on saturday so i will try it the way it is now and then switch the diff oils over and try it. Thanks for the pointers.

I ran 35 front and 27.5 rear and the car felt good but seemed to be dumping side to side a little too quickly. I went to 45 and 35 and it felt much better. This was with the 8 hole 1.2mm conical also. I tried the 6 hole 1.3 and it was ok but the additional pack with the smaller holes helped it on landing the jumps. I want to try the green front springs. What do you run for rear springs?

The conical pistons are thoose 1.1mm or 1.2mm?
I have 6 hole conical pistons do you have tested thoose?
Mabye i should try a litte hardere oil after i have tested grey springs. If that works great i dont want to change that:-).
Now i run green springs, but i think it a litte bit to soft thats why i want to try grey springs first.

You guys should try the CSI pistons they help with overal performace.

+1 on the CSI's ... and when I first rebuilt my shocks, I thought the fluid was cleaner than other shocks I've done, but after 6-7 refills, and the fluid is STILL just as clear, thats just so kool!

idk, maybe the sport version might be pretty tough and not break even without all the 'bulletproof' options/upgrades... hmm might be a pretty interesting experiment to see how well one holds up to real club racing. but dont upgrade broken parts with aftermarket, just same oem that the kit started with.

if anyone actually does or did get a sport version, please update on what breaks ... if anything ...

I just got Tony's screws kit in the mail for the 811e and lets just say, it's awesome! It comes with metal nuts to replace the old plastic ones, every single one. And washers and screws to replace the weak stainless steel ones. I recommend everyone who owns a serpent to by this because then you never have to worry about those crappy plastic nuts that strip all of the time. And as far as the csi pistons go, I hear they are the best money can buy(lots of it) lol. Those with the webbed bladders would be evil.

They are 1.2mm. I made mine a little different than the standard conicals you see. The top of my pistons are domed and the holes have guidence ports to help guide the oil through the hole and reduce blowby between the piston and shock body. They have been working extremely well. I tried 6 and 8 hole configurations and from 1.3 mm down to 1.1mm 6 and 8 hole. I like the 1.2 8 hole the best so far.

I am going to stay with my 8 hole conical pistons. They go really good through the bumpy sections, but not so good at jumping. I just think that i have to try a little thickere oil for front and rear and that grey rear spring

Yeah, that is what i did. I ran the thicker oil and it was really good. I will post how it goes this weekend with the 45 and 35 and let you know what i find. I will try those springs you say too. Dont want to mess up your race as it is much bigger than mine.
