Nop, super easy to build. Just follow the instructions and pay close attention to the pics.

I have the composite braces on my RC8B and I've never broke them, but they do come loose after a few runs....guess I'm going to have to put some locktite on them.

Quick question as a search did not help me...

Will a HB D8 body fit decent on a rc8e??? I just picked up a nice painted one and was wondering how much trimming I will need to do to it if any.

thanks

Smile RC8BE

Hi all, just wondering if someone with a little knowledge on the subject could shoot me a PM.
I was thinking of converting my RC8be into a truggy. My 11yo son is keen to blast around the local oval, but is always tipping the buggy over.
My thoughts were to convert the buggy to a wider wheel base truggy, but am unsure of the parts i would need to complete this job.
I want to keep the body and every thing else the same.
I am not sure if i can re use the shocks and other parts, so i would be interested in your thoughts.
I would probably need a parts list, so i hope someone is kind enough to help.
I know that i could teach him to slow down around corners, but i think this little project would be fun for the two of us to do together, and also i think with the buggy body, would look "sick" ( not my words).
Thanks in anticipation, Anthony.

Just wanted to come in an comment on how tough the RC8BE is. I have mine setup for street running (really just put on some belted street tires). But I am running a 30T pinion with a 50t spur and a CC 2650kv motor on 6S, so its fast. Was running down the street doing some max speed runs with I smacked a curb and sent the buggy cart wheeling. Landed on its wheels but wouldn't move. Ran up to it and plugged the battery back up and she ran just fine afterwards. Awesome buggy.

Default rc8be battery puffing

Hi all! So i am lost here. I have a rc8be with a mamba monster 2200kv setup. The gearing is 15 46. I was running 2 newer (always balanced charged) Trak power 5600mah 60C packs on the street. After about 5 min i stopped and both packs were puffed. The motor temp was 150F and the esc was not hot.
I checked the lipo's cell voltages battery 1 had cell voltage of 3.93 and 3.94 and the other lipo had cell voltage of 3.97 and 3.98.

With the temp being around 150 i thought i was good. was i under geared?

i just charged one of the lipos. it took 1387mah and the cells toped off at 4.204 and 4.206

thanks for any help here, Joe

...LOL....yea, he is cramped....and I did think about cutting the top off, but changed my mind....I couldn't get him to sit any lower no matter how much I trimmed away because of the center diff was so high....so he stays cramped....LOL....

I have a another driver going in my SC8e soon that will fit in a lot better...

Can you put a Brushless 540 motor in the RC8BE just to get you by while the MMM is out for repair??

Generally, no. Unless you have some freak of a motor.
