Would the traction drive/electric clutch be good on this buggy as well? What all would you need for it and are any of your drivers using it right now on the buggy?

I also plan on using an RX8/T8 1900 combo in this, likely with a 5000mah 4s pack, unless Tekno suggests otherwise. It should prove to be way more than enough power and allow it to run long periods and stay cool (I like to go practice for basically a day of non-stop running), even in the heat of sunny outdoor summer racing.

Blair's setup, as has already been mentioned, is a 1/10 ShortCourse Castle setup.

I'd like to know what was in the buggy that just won though, for comparison sake.

here you go about the traktion drive.

Traktion Drive or Elektri-Clutch adds about 20g. Brake servo, discs, pads, levers, etc is probably ~4oz. We weighed one of our test cars with the full setup and it was around 7.75lb IIRC.

For powering the vehicle if I get one, I probably will do the speed passion Silver Arrow V2 or the MMP combined with a tekin 2050Kv or 1900Kv motor. 4200mah 4S packs.

Or, curious to maybe try a 4 pole 540 or 550 motor.

I think Lucas was running an Orion R8 ESC with a Tekin 2050kv motor. We've tried a lot of different setups in his car. The Orion ESC runs hot, the fan broke after two runs. He had an Orion 2100kv motor in there before and it was running way too hot as well. The 2100 motor was sooo fast though I think it was mislabeled at the factory or something. That would explain the heat too.

Our other cars pretty much run all day without issues. I think the new Orion motors and ESC still need work. The coolest setup in Lucas' buggy has been a Mamba Max Pro with a Tekin 2050.

I am currently running a Tekin 1400 with a Mamba Max Pro on 6s/3300. Heat has never been an issue for me. Another driver is running the RX8/2050kv combo and has no issues. We have a driver running a Neu 1509/1.5Y (2400kv) on 4s with a RX8. The motor gets a little warm but runs well.

I am running a MMP and T8 1900Kv in my V4 converted D8 on 4s and the motor gets too 140 and stays there even after 10-15 minutes of constant running . Plan on using the same system for the EB48 as well .

no prob. Right now I am just trying to decide what clutch bell to use myself. I am thinking an 18T one and I like the looks of the nitride racers edge one.

I'll use rx8 / 1900kv too. I tried 2050kv before but 1900kv runs signicifantly cooler geared for same top speed. It has something to do with D and Y windings.

We also just got 3rd place at the JBRL nitro series round 2, at Revelation raceway. The track was really rough for the mains, but the EB48 handled the track with ease & I was able to hold on to 3rd behind Drake & Hartson for a podium finish.
