Have the perfect tire, think I'm getting to much traction Its almost as if I have to come to a dead stop to get this thing to turn!

Im running 8.5 viper only on 70% and can still ride wheelies down the straights

The screw is breaking right at the bottom of the head. ThunderbirdJunkie's been going through a diff screw every race weekend or two...four have broken so far. It looks like there's a bubble underneath the head that developed during casting, presuming that's how these screws are made. He's been running AE cars for a long time and never had this happen, so it's probably just a bad run of them...but it sucks. Gonna try running the diff a bit looser, but ThunderbirdJunkie honestly doesn't believe this will help.

I am in the process of clearing an area to build a track. Here is my current plan.

A Little about the track. The total area will be roughly 30x80. The lanes will be 6-7ft wide.

The corner on the far right side will be sloped/banked.

I'm looking for feedback on the track layout. It's been years since I've been able to run on an actual track.

Basically is this a track that a B4.1 buggy would be fun on?

For me the perfect tire is the one that I can push hard but still be a little loose.

Loose is fast if you can correct fast enough.

in 1/10th buggy i don;t like too much traction in the rear. |Just enough to be able to steer with the throttle if I need to but using your finger be able to accellerate out of the corner with little of the front wheels on the ground

This could help possibly. It's slotted as well so you can adjust by slipping a small wrench in the outdrive.

When you cut the DD's for the front of the 44 to make them work on B4 how much do you cut out if the middle? From my measurement it looks like 4mm. Is this correct?

The JC team generally cut down the rear DDs - check out the JConcepts thread for a picture of how much to cut out (was posted by PW yesterday).

+1000, last time i drove i tightened up my diff a little to much,loosened it back down a little and i was back in business,diff,tires,slipper,rear end is maybe to locked down and causing the front to push also?

Has anyone tried the red losi 56 pistons in their b4? I bought a pair and had to bore them out. Just wondering how they preform...

Also, I see two parts numbers. Is it LOSA5046 or LOSA5341?

LOSA5046 is the one you should be using. So far I like them better than the #2 pistons

Can be a few things ..

Maybe installed the thrust with one of the balls under the thrust washer tilting the washer .

Thrust washer somehow did not seat flat inside out drive

last but least

sometimes the out drive itself is warped or defected

only a

few and rare but happens...



crooked washers or bad out drive make the thrust screw wobble till it breaks at head ....

The funny thing is I had a certain owner of a certain track rebuild the diff for me. He wasn't there at the end of the week last week so I couldn't pick his brain and I didn't get in today. So, tomorrow I will see if he can fix it and answer my questions. See what happens when a guy tries to be a nice guy and fix a car for a person.

That Edit diff screw would be awesome but it says it's not available yet.
