I would like to stick with the truck for this season. I'm running an outdoor setup from the AE site, stick pack, with AE upgrade kit.
Mine is pre-FT: I added 56 grams of lead at the front; 28grams on each side of the servo. Huge improvement.
With my current motor, Tenshock sc401 4600kv, the motor side was still a little heavy, so I added 42 grams of lead on the outside edge of my stick battery right side.
Stock weight for my truck was ~5.8 pounds. The added lead brought it to about 6.3 pounds. Big improvement, but I am still working with it. Some guys have brought their total weight to as much as 6.8 pounds or so.
I recently had an experienced driver tell me that he liked the handling of my plastic chassis / lead setup more than his exotek setup. That was at an indoor track.
I'm expecting the RCshox Center Diff, and RCshox 2-stage pistons soon... right Marcus?
I'm learning that an SC10 with added weight can be as planted as the losi's, but can still out maneuver them.

Thanks for the reply Marcus: The RCshox stuff has shipped!... cmo'n Mr. Postman...!

I'm hearing good stuff about ackerman adjustment if you don't already have one. I'm researching that now...

I would think the bearings in the diff's are rather well protected (understanding that I am sure no bearing is completely protected from dust).
I understand ceramic is better but expensive. They still get dirt in them and need to be cleaned.
I find they are hard to justify on this type of vehicle. Their are tons of decent $1 - $2 bearings available.
I've recently started packing mine with Lucas Oil Treatment and waterproof grease... I clean them with jewelry cleaner and WD40...
If the $1 bearings hold up OK... I may just treat them as disposables.
I'm not sure what the lifespan is of ceramic bearings is if they are neglected and dirty.

I also am waiting for my Rcshox diff, I did get the ExoTech chassis along with some others very close to Kewltoy...... (Tenshock 411, Brushless hobbies 120 esc) I am going to use the B44 lipo battery tray in mine. I am having a hard time locating the part number for the servo horn or a after market horn though otherwise it is almost ready to rock, I can't wait till I finally get to drive this thing.

I totally agree with this, I always keep spare bearings for my other SC trucks because the ceramic bearings are just to expensive in my case ( out of pocket racer ) to change new bearings every little while or clean them is just an easy alternative

It depends upon chassis. Stock yes. I guess one could argue that a totally revamped slash chassis is not a slash.

I get the impression that the only stock parts on coyoteslash's slash is something like the diff pins lol.

I've had enough of my 5k diff oil escaping so I've put some normal grease in for the time being until I can get some Kyosho diff grease and I'm wondering what sort of things its going to do to the truck.
Will it tighten up the diff making the truck push in the corners giving me understeer?
That would actually be quite handy on my local track.

The 30k stays in the front diff fine.

Drivelines and Diffs!

All that's left is quite literally the Diffs, Diff housings, and the plastic drivelines. (under 2s, they get replaced every 3 months) The truck is a monsterous thing. The looks I get from Losi guys when I tell them it's a slash are hilarious.

Mine is the SSC and yes it does drive better than the SC10..a buddy of mine is currently racing mine and he pretty much owns the local tracks with it..CraigMBA knows this to be true....wicked fast..it's been raced for a year..hard..no parts failures, still on the ORIGNAL diff gears..diff cases..only thing that gets replaced is the plastic drivelines..about every 3 months..I'm not giving up on my SC10 but outdoors the LCG slash owns the SC10..it is what it is..and on the slash..it's zero maintance in a year..

I was wondering if someone could get me a measurement of the shock piston for this truck? I'm needing to replace the pistons in my Proline shocks and they appear to be close in size.
