Tekno RC EB48 Thread

This machine looks legit

It will be my next 1/8 e-buggy.
Tekno says they have been testing, so I trust them when they say it has stood up to the abuse. Everything looks great. I will say the turnbuckles looked a little thin for 1/8 scale, but time will tell.
Stuff I really like:
And here are the pics:

Great stuff, and it was nice talking to the Tekno guys

Well done on what I would call a true 1/8 electric buggy that was well thought out and designed from the ground up without any nitro influence on layout.

Stuff I really like:
- Smart chassis and geometry design
- Straight center drive shaft
- looks easy to work on with low screw count
- integrated mudgaurds with electronics mounting
- all components centered with super narrow chassis
- shocks look and feel top notch
- super low CG
- nice looking motor mount that keeps the motor and pinion centered in the mount
- use either direct drive or Tekno tracktion drive or clutch system
- mechanical brakes can be used with a nice integrated servo mount in the mud gaurd

Danny and crew, you guy's have came a long ways since we met back in 09 at Rev for the Roar race. I'm proud of you guys!

There is a write up from Austin Blair on the amain hobbies blog regarding the testing he has done with the car. He says he has raced it with a Castle power system designed for the 4X4 short course trucks. Any chance of releasing it in SC form? It would be nice to have a reliable truck based on 1/8 drive train parts.

Got a question, how will the layout look like with the mech brakes? I noticed you guys have gone for a key/slot motor mount and I believe this may interfere with the front/rear brake discs if there were to be mech brakes.
The previous Tekno conversions used a longshank pinion for clearance.

Please, at the least make an aftermarket metal gear available. Yeah, I'm probably in the minority I know. But I will buy if you make it
I'll maybe wait a few months after release to see if there are any other bugs to be worked out.
