Tekno RC EB48 Thread

I give up on the shocks!! I've got three hours trying to get them to stop sucking air, but no luck. The bladders are just a little off. They don't seat in the groove in the cap tightly enough . I'm going to run them as is until I can find better bladders. The mugen bladders were a no-go. Anybody got any ideas? I want to race tomorrow, so I can't spend anymore time on them today (honey do list), I'll run her as is.
After you have filled your shock with oil to the top, install your bladder directly onto the shock body. Pull the shaft down 3 or 4 mm. This will create a vacume and hold/seal the bladder in place. You will have some oil spill out at this point. That is ok, just clean carefully. Do not break the seal of the bladder to the shock body. If you do, repeate the steppes. Screw on the cap with the bladder sealed by hand all the way down to hold the bladder. Than set your rebound and screw the cap more using a wrench
See if this helps

Allen, thanks for the help, but been there, done that. No luck. When the shocks are complete, they seems fine. Pump them a dozen times, OK. Wait a few minutes , pump them again, large amounts of air. I think I can actually hear the bladder pop loose, then air pocket. And yes, the caps are tight as all get out, but the bladders are not cut, or showing signs of uneven seating on the shock body. I'm baffled.

Seeing these sexy new built buggies is making me want one. I was going to wait until any quirks are sorted out (like my V4 conversion)...but so far, seems like I haven't read of anyone running into real problems with it.
Keep up the good work and continued personal support for the Tekno fans Danny. I just rebuilt my Ve8 but when the next teardown comes, its time to start with a new EB48.

When you open your shocks, is there oil above the bladder?
Also, do you think air could be getting in through the o-rings at the bottom? Did you use Green Slime or an equivalent? Did you crank the bottom cap as tight as you could? Is there a chance one of the o-rings was torn during assembly?

I know I saw one person mention binding in the steering knuckles, did we figure out whats causing that?
When I put the center diff into the bulkhead I found that the spur hits a little on the top plate. I saw someone post about counter sinking the holes will fix that, which holes are being referred to.
Overall I've had very few problems with this build. Just minor clearance issues. Those rear camber links were a beast to get into the bearing carrier.
