I'm running the Exotek chassis. Last we the guys told me to run the front blues in the rear and loved it. Handled and jumped way better. I'm running yellow fronts and front blues in the rear.....best my truck has handled..

Yes I have tested this and was still quicker through the corners and the truck jumped better with the shorty greens. It is the shorter stiffer spring that is making the rear of the truck better. Testing on the clock I am just faster with them.

I think only one person on here did not care for the shorty rear springs on the truck on their track. Two if you count WC Although I think he should try whites on the rear at TRCR though.

The laughter is for WC.....as for your testing on the "shorty rears", I have found that whites work well for me at IRH (Island Raceway and Hobby) on Long Island in NY. Track is starting to groove and is fairly smooth in most parts except for the front straight which has a very well spaced jump combo that is really making spring selection important. Flying level and high is the name of the game and then hitting a hard right to start all over again....lol.

Im running blue sways front and rear....think I have to go to lighter bars. Fastest guy around the track on the class can hit 17-19's. Best I can muster is 20.1 so far. Tomorrow night will tell the tale. First time back to "race" in over a dozen years....and I cant wait!

Sal

PS...just swapped out two front arms that were warped to hell dammit!

why would you go to lighter bars?

run a 2.0 in front and 1.8 out back

The blue fronts aren't as crucial as raising the rear spring rate if you don't like how the truck jumps. Without writing a manifesto, there is a range of spring rates that is "technically" correct but the driver may hate it. I don't mind a car with a ton of spring in the rear because I'm pretty soft on the wheel and the throttle, other drivers may find that setup hard to drive because they can't punch it.

There are times of the year that are better for a sportsman like me to race than others; April is not awesome for me. We have a new indoor offroad and I'd love to go try some things, but I have other fish to fry IRL. Maybe next month.

I ran my truck tonite for the first time on a track. It was absolutely dialed. Actually shocking at how well it did everything I ask it too. Track was outdoor, medium traction, pretty smooth..

Blue frts in frt
blue frts in rr
shock oil 32.5/27.5
smallest swaybars frt and bck
2mm under frt balls and 4mm under rear balls
-2 camber frt and rr
bowties on +3mm rims
Tekin RX8 10 drag,10 boost,85 current limiter,75 brakes(too much)
Tenshock 4600.. beyond fast and supa smooth geared 13/62

Waaay more in the truck. Like I said 1st run and it was very good

I use 40% brake and it still brakes just fine LOL , you must have some traction cause I use more current limiter too. Glad its working good for ya.

try -1 camber all around. blues aren't too soft for ya in the front?

Remember.. 1st run! 40% is probably still too much brake. I basically couldnt do anything but barely tap them.

Blues felt really good in front. Truck felt like it was in the track instead of riding on it.

I think my biggest current limiter is my finger. Truck had way more power than I could I use. My throttle profile was the curve below linear. I could blow it out into a donut anytime anywhere even on the straights ,but I think throttle control is the way to deal with it.

I started with subcultures, good on this track,,, went to bow fighter's,, no good at all, then some enduro's.. good but not great.. Finally settled on the bowties and they let me mover the rear end around under control and stick the nose where I wanted it.

Damit exotek keeps pushing their date back for the new release chassis to fit the FT saddle packs :-(

I'll be heading to the track tomorrow to experiment more with the FT kit, and hopefully have it dialed in to race next Saturday........... I'm thinking about mixing up the front and rear tires, whats a good tire that will get alot of grip on an hardpacked clay track?
