+1. Bulldog body will require modifying. Found out hard way. Although I've been using it for past 3 months, ha ha...

Hey gota question. I am in the process of building my RC8be FT kit. After assembling my rear bulkhead I noticed that if I completely tighten the two 3/16mm screws that hold the gearbox together it binds up the diff from spinning. I found that backing these 2 screws out a few turns makes it able to spin like it should when turning the drive shaft. My front bulkhead went together fine and has always spun smoothly. Yes it is assembled correctly...

Is this a known thing? And if so why does it not say to not completely tighten them in the manual??
Thanks

Will the rc8.2 wing and mount bolt up to the rc8b?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds very strange. Make sure your differentials are in the correct position when you spin the spur gear. All your axles should be spinning the same direction. When I first built mine I overlooked that portion so I had to flip the front differential ring gear around. Also make sure you have those little foam pads in place on the chassis as well.

I would try that first since you will be disassembling the differential gear box area anyways.

GL!

Default bashing only

Hey guys, I have read through most of the thread (took a few nights heh). Anyway I plan to get a rc8be for bashing purposes only and wanted to know what you guys thought the best motor/esc combo would be for that purpose. I want to be able to go fast. I already have several gens ace 4s packs so I wasn't sure I wanted to get something that would require me to get 5s or 6s packs, but I could if it meant longer run times (not sure exactly how that works)

Anyway here is what I was going to purchase:
rc8be kit
xerun 150a esc
tenshock 2200 or 2400 kv (6 pole?)
savox 1256
airtronics mt4
use existing 5000mah gens ace 4s packs

Any opinions? Like I said I will be bashing only. Any ideas on how high I could gear this without running into temp issues?

Thanks!

also, here is what I have learned as far as spare parts/upgrades to have:

assortment of pinion gears mod1 5mm (15-20t)
wing and wing mount
dogbones
rear chassis brace (alum)
spare caster bushings -- these seem to give people issues - solve by loctiting them in
front shock ends
possibly motor mount - gridrc.com or elitercd.com - not sure this is needed if you are not swapping motors much
steering axles
drivetrain axle set screws
tierod ends
3k, 5k, 7k differential oils
DE racing mud guards

things you may have to do:
fix center differential leak - lightly sand with 600 grit sandpaper and yamabond

just reposting info I read for any other person in my position getting the car new

Just curious what is the advantage of using the 8.2e mount and wing?

I believe it adds more stability and reinforcement. Might also change the angle. Presume you're talking wing mount not motor mount.

are you talking about the stock foam pads to kind the battery tray? Yes, I run a pair of soft cell packs electrical taped together and it works fine though my batteries are on edge not flat.
