The connector will cause a little voltage loss and one more thing to go wrong. Those connectors do fail sometimes. I posted some pics to help you solder direct from esc to bullet connectors.

You also want the bullet connectors that have 1/2 the channel missing to make it easy soldering, and the wires to lay flat, but all 4mm bullet style will work. Make sure your wires are laid flat on the esc or the body will get in the way and you will need to resolver it.

Here is some pics.
I actually found soldering them up and down works better. Since the plastic of the tray lids sticks up above the battery, soldered side ways you always have to pull the ends up of the battery more.

I forgot one last thing, ... ok maybe a few things lol... get the Hot Bodies aluminum servo lever.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Futaba-Spline

It fits perfectly, and then you can ditch the stock plastic piece that may/may not strip on you, even if you CA the insert into it.

Then you can also use the "hard" servo saver spring, instead of the stock medium one.

Also,

- Aluminum wing mount posts:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...unt-Post-Set-2

- Serpent Webbed bladders, or Losi foam compensators for the shocks

- Aluminum Hardware VERY IMPORTANT (washers, nutz) -- x2
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...mm-Lock-Nut-10

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...asher-Kit-Blue

or whatever color you want.. gold was my other choice!

maybe an extra body, extra decals, pinions, or other Bling like aluminum shock spring retainers or wheel nutz.

maybe the aluminum rear chassis brace that bolts onto the battery mounts.

not much else is really needed, just drive it and find out!!

Thanks man, I will definitely get some bullets and try those out. Options, options, is wut I like!

I take it that the Red shrink wrap on the battery designates the positive side there? Good thing I wasnt an electrical engineer in college, HAHA. I think I mostly majored in gurl watching... which is why my neck hurts so much today!!!

Actually its the wire holders I'm talking about, they don't fit the 2.7 wires.

Yes red heat shrink for positive. I also like to use Testors Enamal Paint marker pens and I mark the bullet holes on all my batteries with Red and Black to be double sure I don't plug something in backwards These markers are fantastic instead of breaking out paint and cleaning brushes etc..

Yes true for this car, I also soldering mine straight up. But the open bullets make it real easy to solder and some cars to require them to lay flat, such as my Schumacher SX3. All depends on the car.

I'm not positive but I think these are bigger than the stock ones.

I think he's referring to the optional quick change sway bar set up.

So the 2.7 would probably "feel" like a 3.0 bar or maybe a 2.9. I haven't tried it myself and think they look a little too bulky, nice idea though. I guess if you had to try the 2.7, a little drilling would make it fit.

Going back to the 8 hole frt/10 hole rear shock piston setup. I see thinner oil than I expected. With that thin of oil my car is very soft and bottoms out to easy and gets tossed around alot. Please point me in the right direction to start out with oil/spring combo on a rough loose loamy track. I will adjust the car from that point. This is the track I race on. I am the oreange car in second spot at the start of the main. Not a good race for me lol.

thanks for the help. I love this car and the Gas buggy rocks as well.

Ok so I picked up a Tekin RX8 combo for this buggy. I've never used Tekin before and am finding the hotwire setup a little confusing.

For those running Tekin, what values seem to fit this buggy best? any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Tekin has a HUMONGOUS reputation, customer service and history in the RC industry.

I'll spend a few more bucks for a company that has been around since I was a kid, almost when dinosaurs roamed the earth, .. and will most probably still be around when the next age of dinosaurs roam the earth again.

It's like buying a cheap nitro motor... u gotta ask yourself, do you "really" want an expensive paper weight that badly?

but hey, different strokes for different folks I always say.
