May have found the problem. I had installed thin washers/shims on the drive axle, and both these washers were worn out and very sharp. I have removed them completely. I'll run it soon and see how the new bearings go.

If you check out blogs . jconcepts .net there is a picute of one of their cars from the weekend not sure which, do you know if those springs are AE prototype or are they some other brand? (sorry dont have enough posts to post the link)

i am curious to know so I can match to the closest AE spring if possible.

If the spring in the picture are black then they are Losi or Kyosho, if they are greyish then they are Avid springs.
You can see them in this pic.

Thanks man!

And the big bores seemed so planted, and fit perfect.

Also Tyler, I didn't get a chance to tell you but good job on both your finishes!

OK, so I have looked through this thread pretty heavily and can't find my answer. I am upgrading my B4.1 to the ball dif. I have changed out the tranny case and gotten the proper bearings and all that. Anyway, will the stock dogbones work at all or am I going to have to go on and get the upgraded CVD's?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can change to get more control/stability on the straight with the inline axle setup?

Also, on a different issue. I seem to keep stripping the inner small ballbearings (3977) in my rear 0.5 aluminium hub carriers. They are wearing out on the inner side. I clean and lube then (as with all my bearings) very often. Has anyone had this same issue? Any suggestions how I can stop these bearings from wearing out so quickly?
see my car has a ton of steering initially, at the right speed, but on exit it pushes unless i really control my speed, i went to the trailing and the car was god awful. My car is fairly stable in the straight, it just seems more reactive than it used to be

as far as your bearing, is it possible you have smacked the back wheels against the tube/wall, it is very commong for the smaller bearings to break apart from crashes.

The finish on the Jconcepts comes off fairly quickly. Pretty much the case with any anodized wheel nut. I prefer plain old aluminum -
