Well guys I also now know what it feels like to be "Losi'd". Just got home from the NZ champs on a tight large 1/10 outdoor track, high grip clay, I've done most of the mods on here, my truck is pinned, HD pads in stock slipper, out of the 4 SC4x4s that I counted, I could only see one in the A main, most were Losi and I think two Rango's, it was clear watching the mains that the center diff in the "other" trucks works better, all the SC 4x4s were lacking that punch on landing jumps, on the bumpy track when you gas the track it was hard to keep it on a nice clean line, if you gave it more slip it was easy to drive but just to slow, my track was the only pinned one that I know of, but the issue was there with all the SC 10 trucks, my truck was great to drive, just lacking that nice clean acceleration of the many small jumps, there were no large jumps, very tight track so it should have been a SC10 field day over the Losi's, but it was not. I love this truck and am going to try either the center diff from Mantis or the center FT slipper, I got second in the B main and had fun, but these trucks showed what i'm starting to think is a poor setup without a center diff.
Just a note before I get flamed, I also run my Losi 8E, this issue is just not there with this car, even tho it has a ton more power.

So with the current trend to use BB spring on 1/10 shocks in the AE B4 why not make a Wider spring for the BB on the current 4x4's to roughly do the same?

Friday night I rebuilt my shocks back to emulsion 35f/32r. I've been playing with my setup since using the center diff for the first time last week. Before I was dialing out some of the turn exit oversteer and now I need more exit steering. First thing I did was move the rear hub back to the middle from all the way forward, which helped but still need more on power steering. I borrowed a pair of blue fronts for the rear, now I see what the fuss is about. It felt awesome and I can't wait to pick up a full set. This helped a ton also. Finally I changed my sways from orange front/white rear to white all around. All of these things helped but I still feel like sometimes I cant grab as much throttle as I used to in several places on the track.

I'm guessing I should change my front diff from 10k to 7k? I bought some 7k so I can tear it down today and try it out Tuesday.

I ended up getting 3rd, there were 5 trucks all fighting for position and I'm the only one of them that managed to drive clean and stay out of trouble. All it took was to stay behind until they pile up, and drive around. I ended up having more than a half of a lap the last minute of the race. My lap times have also improved a ton, from top 10 being around 20-21 and top 5 around 20, to top 10 being 19 and top 5 being 18. Feels good man.
I run 5k front and 3k rear. All the steering i want.

How about progressive weight springs? They work well in full size apps. My KTM has them front and rear. I have a couple ideas on combining a few coils from a rear spring to a front spring for use on the rear shocks. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it.

I was trying to figure out what AE 1/8 scale spring I wanted to try but I think the camber link will get in the way. I remember seeing a picture of BK SC4w that had some 1/8 springs on it so I am sure it can be done.

Will be cool to see if the AE boy's will have shorty rears on their trucks this weekend at the Cactus Classic.

Are you saying AE uses our ideas as part of their R&D?

Default FT upgrade kit

Recently, someone posted about the FT upgrade kit that is on Tower Hobbies (due late Mar) for $60. Does anyone know specifically what will be included in this kit? It does not list the description any where.

Yes through my local hobby shop. It will cost more to upgrade piece by piece.

Someone got there first Dan....lol. I have seen these in action for street duty (bashing), but Im not sure they would work on the track to be honest.
